I’ve grown to love BNTM (now known as BINTM) over the years, as they provide us with endless amounts of fashion fuelled entertainment. One of my favourite parts of each series are the makeovers, as they oversee the transformations of a ‘normal girl’ to a ‘model. Inevitably, one poor soul always gets her hair shaved off – and has a good cry, but its the before and after pictures that we really want to see.
If you’ve missed all the fun over the last few years, I’ve provided you with some beautiful examples of BNTM makeovers (and some not so beautiful). What do you think? This year’s series saw both Tanya and Anastasia get a little more than they bargained for, when they were both given very dramatic (and terrible) make overs. Poor Anastasia, who eventually finished 4th in the show, was given a dreadful makeover. Personally, I thought she was a natural beauty and perhaps could have done with getting her roots done (if your being picky) however the BNTM team decided to dye her hair a candyfloss pink. It completely washed her out, not to mention the damage it did to her hair (as they bleached it first before putting the colour on). Luckily, the judges came to their senses as the series continued – as they returned her poor locks to their original colour. Young mum Tanya’s makeover didn’t turn out so well either, as her long black hair was cut into a hairstyle that suspiciously resembled a bowl cut. Tanya’s choice of pose didn’t really help herself out either.
I’m not quite sure what the makeover teams intentions were with poor Amy, but they’ve done a great job on creating a Noel Fielding lookalike. No, I’m kidding. Amy was a very pretty and unique model, which makes a change from the stereotypical ‘model prototype’ that we normally see – however the makeover didn’t quite support this. The black dye completely washed out Amy’s pale complexion and quite frankly, it just looked like it had been ‘plonked on her head’ as one of the judges quite rightly said. What were the makeover team thinking? Whilst many of the girls were dissatisfied with their new looks, it was quite nice for Marketing officer Holly – who simply got her roots done. Although she had a few blonde extensions put into her hair at first, they were soon taken out. Despite not winning, Holly saved £40 at the hairdressers! Result!
On a more positive note, here are a few of the more successful makeovers!
Please note – the last one is a joke.
