Little Black Dress

Everyone needs a LBD in their lives, or maybe even several… I’ve been on the hunt for a lace up version recently, since it’s a style I’ve spotted on a number of bloggers and quite fancied recreating. Along the way, I came across this gorgeous faux suede dress – with an a-line shape (I always find this is very flattering and well-fitting) and a slightly more conservative lace up section – which I preferred. Immediately upon taking the dress out of the bag, I knew I was going to love it – and I wasn’t wrong. It fit like a…

That Fashion Week Thing

Slight disclaimer here before we get going. I’m doing that annoying thing that only seems to occur during Fashion Week, of not wearing my coat as it was properly intended. Instead, I’ve flung it over my shoulders in a bid to look more FASH-ION. Oh yes.  I give you permission to laugh at me. My first outfit at this season’s London Fashion Week was a pastel combo, featuring a prairie style cream dress, a pastel pink trench, a tassel pastel handbag and these incredible two-toned suede platforms. Somewhere in the jungle

We shot these photographs a couple of weeks back while at Kew Gardens and I have to say it was the most awkward thing ever. I’m sure lots of bloggers can relate – just because you have a stunning backdrop, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the shooting experience will be the most glamorous of affairs. So I tried to find a private place to pop this dress on – and found somewhere I thought I wouldn’t…

Daring Denim

Denim is something I’ve never quite been fond of. Jeans haven’t ever ‘sat’ properly on me (or at least, it’s seemed that way) and it’s only since I lost weight that I’ve found a pair I’m comfortable in. So to go one step above in the denim world – and opt for a denim dress is pretty daring for me, especially as I was worried about it creating a rather ‘boxy shape’. I found this lovely item on the Brand Attic site and immediately fell in love with the colour, shape and style. It looks classy and far more expensive…

The Shirt Edit

It’s fun to get creative with outfit choices, but it’s also equally as fun to keep things simple sometimes and opt for a few items – to create a staple look that you can wear again and again. Usually if you’re opting for the latter, you need one ‘focal’ piece for your outfit, followed by a number of mix and match items. In this case, the focal piece was this amazing patchwork shirt dress from Joe Browns. Dress (Joe Browns) | Trainers (Adidas)  Any of you eagle-eyed readers may remember that I collaborated with Joe Browns before Christmas as part…
