The Shirt Edit

It’s fun to get creative with outfit choices, but it’s also equally as fun to keep things simple sometimes and opt for a few items – to create a staple look that you can wear again and again. Usually if you’re opting for the latter, you need one ‘focal’ piece for your outfit, followed by a number of mix and match items. In this case, the focal piece was this amazing patchwork shirt dress from Joe Browns. In My Wardrobe:

Date Night

Now that Christmas and New Year celebrations are well and truly over, I find myself looking for the next ‘festivities’ to start prepping for. With holidays (my first is in May) a little too far ahead in the distance to get excited about, the next ‘day’ on the horizon is Valentine’s Day – which I don’t tend to ‘celebrate’ but it’s a nice excuse for a few themed posts. Red on red

I wasn’t sure about this outfit, as it’s not something I’d usually go for. The skirt was a little big for me and so it’s not the most flattering over the stomach – however I loved the almost tweed texture of it – and teamed with a semi-matching roll neck jumper, I thought it might make for an interesting look. What I love about having a blog is being able to have a creative outlet – and look back on things that have worked and haven’t worked. In fact, I cringe looking back at all my old outfits – but…

It’s my Birthday!!

Today is my actual birthday! I’m 22. And oh my goodness does saying that make me feel old. To celebrate and document the occasion on my blog, I thought I’d throw on my current favourite party dress and indulge in a mini outfit post. Because why not? If I’m completely honest with you, birthday’s aren’t my favourite thing. Even if admitting that makes me sound like a complete party pooper, I never really ‘look forward to them’. I feel as though there’s a lot of pressure on making it such a special day and doing everything you want to do. Of…

Cosy in Cashmere

Despite being in the midst of Winter, I still struggle putting together a weather-suitable outfit that is both comfortable and on trend. Usually I fall down at either hurdle and end up spending the entire day shivering (but looking Instagram ready) or in some almost-onesie-style-ensemble. It’s a hard life. One look that does seem to tick both boxes however is this cosy combination, with a simplistic monochrome palette (and a pop of brown). It’s rare that I allow myself to wear plain black leggings however I think they do look *almost* dressy in this instance – teamed with my favourite pair…
