Cosy Winter Knits

Probably the most exciting thing about the influx of cold weather, for me, was the opportunity to wear thick, woolly roll neck jumpers. There’s something really comforting about cosy knitwear and so as soon as the temperature dropped, I set about hunting for the perfect one. Unfortunately, fashion and comfort don’t often combine (or at least, very well) so my search proved harder than I originally thought. I ventured into H&M many times, who do amazing knitwear at all times of the year, however even their more expensive selections weren’t overly flattering and the quality wasn’t what I wanted. Although I…

In My Wardrobe:

Autumn Falls

Since my previous outfit posts have been rather summery (catching up from when I was in Crete in September), I thought I’d post a few which are actually wearable in the UK at the moment. Autumn/Winter isn’t my favourite season to dress for (if I’m honest), as it’s far too focused on bulky layering and hiding behind coats – however I promised myself I would be a bit more adventurous this year and I treated myself to a few staple (and more importantly – warm) items. The first of which were these gorgeous suede leggings, which I bought from New Look…

These boots probably weren’t made for walking…

Although I invested in a pair of black over the knee boots last A/W, like most ongoing trends – they’ve been dutifully updated this season and so I treated myself to another (less bulky) more feminine version. They’ve been sitting (rather prettily) in my room for a couple of weeks, waiting for their moment to shine – however without a place to be shown off (they are a bit too ‘dressy’ for everyday wear), they were slightly redundant. Fast forward to a few days later and I decided to just throw them on with my next ‘going out’ combination –…

Winter Warmers with Target Dry

I really struggle to find warm clothes that are both on trend and flattering. Usually one of the aspects has to give and it’s never a perfect triangle. I’m either left absolutely freezing (but Instagram ready) or like a rather misshapen orange (harking back to last winter when I decided my ‘look’ was going to feature an oversized bright tangerine boucle jacket – if I ever do that again, you have my permission to remove it yourself). This winter, I was determined not to fall into either category and so went on the hunt for something that could potentially tick all the boxes.…

Joe Browns Christmas Campaign

Blogging really has opened so many exciting doors for me, since I started (then scarlettlondon.blog.com) back in 2011. I’ve sat FROW at London Fashion Week (an amazing experience – and a people watching haven), interviewed the cast of Made in Chelsea live on air (again, amazing but daunting) and travelled all over the world. However, one thing I hadn’t really dabbled in before was working with brands on a campaign or a photo shoot. I’d always been quite nervous (and self conscious) about myself, so it was something I’d been offered but turned down. Losing weight has definitely helped improve…
