2016’s Highlight Reel

As hideous as 2016 has seemed in the media, for me it’s been a life changing year in a good way. So many things have evolved in ways I never expected them too and I’m currently sat here feeling very lucky indeed. But not in a smug way, because everything up until this point has been a long, hard slog – so I’m finally enjoying the rewards! Before we move into the new year, I thought I’d put together a round up post of all my highlights – since I’d love to document some of them and share some things…

It begins with food

As I’m sure many of you know, about a year and a half ago I completely overhauled my diet in a bid to start feeling myself again. I’d been plagued by horrible digestive systems for too long and I decided enough was enough. Overnight, I cut out dairy and eggs and quite honestly, I haven’t looked back. How to make the internet a friendlier place

The past few weeks have really opened my eyes up to how cruel the internet can be. I’m pleased to say that until a few months ago, I’d never really received any negative comments or harsh words about my blog. Live Life on Impulse

I’m known among my family and friends to be a bit of a planner. I’m quite a sensible person who likes to be organised, so doing anything largely ‘spontaneous’ is usually off the cards. When it comes to style, I stick to what I know and rarely venture off course. If someone approached me with an opportunity to do something wild and crazy that day (am trying to think of what this could possibly be – so let’s go with cliff jumping, because that terrifies me), my answer would be a resounding no. I need time to think it over,…

One for the over-thinkers

Staying positive is easier said than done. 9 times out of 10, the automatic response to a negative thought pattern is a quick ‘try not to worry’, which invariably doesn’t help. But there are times when over-thinking something, mulling over a past mistake or overanalysing an interaction, slips into the unhealthy realm. When it consumes you on a regular basis and you find yourself obsessing over things, robbing you of enjoying moments in the present. My beautiful friend Em recently wrote a post which really got me thinking about how much over-thinking seems to consume my daily life. I know I’m…
