On Tuesday I was lucky enough to head to the Kardashian Kollection for Lipsy press day at the Sanderson Hotel. This was my first press event so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I knew I was excited. Being a huge Kardashian fan, when asked if I was available to attend the event, I immediately jumped with excitement.
I arrived at the Sanderson at lunch time and was blown away by how chic it was inside, as I’ve walked past the hotel many times but had never actually gone in. After being welcomed by a gorgeous doorman, I caught the lift to the sixth floor then had to step into the VIP lift to head to the penthouse (fancy I know). Once at the penthouse I was welcomed by one of the Lipsy girls and immediately offered a drink, food and guided tour around the collection. I took the tour and saved the nibbles for later. As the collection doesn’t launch for few weeks we were not able to take pictures of all of the items, just a selected few. Some of them were so ‘hush hush’ that they were in a private room.
The SS14 Kardashian Kollection is a lot larger than the previous and there are so many pieces that are absolute must-haves. Every piece in this collection really represents the Kardashian sisters’ current style and you can really tell which individual pieces have been influenced by which sister. As you could probably guess, the majority of the collection is made up of sexy figure-hugging dresses but there is also an array of leather-look pencil skirts in white, beige and blue, amongst other colours, which are stunning – and paired with the matching leather-look crop top, would look so effortlessly sexy. Two pieces that really caught my eye were a pair of leopard print trousers and a matching cami. Co-ords are so on trend right now and I could just tell how amazing these would look together with a leather jacket. As well as the classic figure-hugging dresses, the collection also features some gorgeous jumpsuits and playsuits that you can just see Kourtney wearing.
The colour palette is a mixture of neutral whites and beige, black, navy, blues and a pop of coral. Although there isn’t much of a spectrum, the colours are perfect for summer and would suit everyone, especially when we have that summer glow! This collection also features gorgeous shoes and accessories – one pair of heels that I particularly like are also favourite of Khloe’s, as she has been seen out and about in them.
As well as the Kardashian Kollection we were also able to take a sneak peek at the Lipsy Spring/ Summer collection. On a rainy winter’s day, walking into a bedroom filled with beautiful clothes in summer colours got me really excited for January to be over and to start looking at summer holidays! This collection is very much festival chic with denim shorts, playsuits and kimonos and a colour palette of corals and bright blues. There are also some gorgeous mix and match bikinis and a few bags, including a lovely overnight bag.
Both collections are gorgeous and very different to what I had expected. The Kardashian Kollection is especially stunning with every piece being something you could imagine a Kardashian sister to wear. Although I loved pretty much every piece, there are two dresses in particular that I have fallen in love with and cannot wait for the launch so I can make a quick purchase. The Kardashian Kollection SS/14 will be available from 12th February with dresses costing between £60-£75 and the Lipsy SS/14 will be available from March 2014 onwards.
