Although the beauty world is currently fixated by hair oils and how they can miraculously repair and restore even the most damaged hair, very few people know about the effect it can have on the rest of our body. Argan Oil, often known as ‘Moroccan Oil’ due to it originating from the Moroccan Argan Tree, works its magic by assisting the hair in protecting itself against harsh environmental factors (or as we know it, straightening and excessive heat treatment) just as the Argan tree adapts to its own harsh conditions.
As it is rich in vitamins, it also helps to nourish hair and inject some much needed moisture into wherever it is applied. It is because of these factors that Argan Oil also works so well on skin too, helping it to protect itself from harsh environmental factors, restore the skins original suppleness and elasticity and helps to hydrate tired, dry looking skin.

SPAtopia are one of the very first brands to create a range of lovely Argan Oil based products, designed specifically for restoring and repairing skin. The range features a body wash, body butter and body oil, all rich in the magic ingredient – which each leave you feeling soft, refreshed and hydrated.
Not only do each of the products smell absolutely divine, but they also work wonders for your skin. The body butter is one of the most soft, yet effective I’ve ever used and keeps skin hydrated for at least 48 hours. I am normally never really adventurous with my body butters, as I tend to stick to Cocoa Butter based ones however I can really recommend a try of an Argan Oil based body butter, as I guarantee you will notice the difference. Plus, if your skin becomes quite irritable after shaving, then a ten pence piece size dollop of this body butter will soothe and cure all those nasty red marks and patches, which is handy if you are going out that same night!
The Argan based oil product is my favourite out of the range, as it is Argan Oil in its purest form and has been highly regarded as the secret of Moroccan women for centuries. It is not only great for nourishing skin (and hair) but can also be used as an anti-aging moisturiser – as it works wonders in correcting fine lines and preventing the skin loosing it’s natural elasticity. Argan Oil is quite often used in medicines (along with a bunch of other chemicals – which aren’t in these products) in the treatment of scaly skin or wrinkled skin – which just again proves how it can have a real anti-aging effect.
So, it might seem a little odd to use Argan Oil as part of your skincare routine rather than simply as a hair product – but I am positive that once the beauty world returns from the Miracle Hair Oil hype, using Argan Oil in skincare products will soon be a regular occurrence and – we’ll all have far softer skin!
