Finding unique, ‘one off’ style jewellery pieces is one of the beauty’s involved in being a blogger. I almost feel like it’s my job to track down little boutiques to report on – which means I get to browse hundreds of sites and not feel overly guilty. One little guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure of mine recently is Astrid & Miyu, possibly the cutest little online jewellery store I’ve ever come across, where everything could be quite easily added to my basket and never regretted.
Early on last month, they kindly sent me an adorable little box filled with my favourite pieces – to wear over the Christmas period. It’s safe to say I had fun reviewing them (and plenty of compliments on how unique the pieces were), and I can’t wait to show you all the photographs at last!
Possibly the favourite out of the three is this daisy ring, featuring a delicate, woven silver style band. Despite looking very intricate and expensive, the ring itself is extremely light wearing and hardly feels like you’re wearing anything on your finger at all (which I love, there’s nothing worse than a ring you can’t wait to get off). It’s rather unusual, but at the same time very versatile and wearable – making a perfect gift (or treat) for any jewellery lover.
I wore the ring several times over the festive period (it went fabulously with party dresses) and was asked by two strangers (well, fellow party guests) where the ring was from and how it was made. Unfortunately, my jewellery-making technical experience was very limited, but I was more than happy to direct them over to the Astrid & Miyu website.
In addition to the ring, I was also sent two very lovely ‘initial-sake’ pieces, in a beautiful rose gold, finished with a diamante stud. Although probably the most delicate of necklaces and bracelets that I have ever owned, both pieces were absolutely stunning and worked very well with both daywear and evening wear. As I am used to statement necklaces, it was actually quite refreshing to wear something that pulled an outfit together, rather than distracting attention away from the overall look. Again, they were very light, comfortable and easy to wear – I even forgot to take the necklace off for two days.
If you’re looking for a little ‘pick me up’ treat, or if boys, you’re reading this and wondering where to shop for that perfect Valentine’s gift, you’re in luck! An initial rose gold necklace will go down a treat, I promise.
