Earlier in the year, I went to my first ever ‘Ladies Day’ at Ascot – which you can read about here if you fancy. It marked the only time I’ve ever watched horse racing live and although it’s never been something I’ve been overly interested in, the atmosphere, the outfits and the overall experience far surpassed my expectations. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day and it whet my appetite for something similar in the future.
So, when the Newbury Race Course got in touch about collaborating recently, for their Bet365 festival on Saturday 28th November, I was intrigued to find out more.
Typically, the three day annual extravaganza is said to capture the ‘elegance of the sport’ and is one of Winter’s biggest social events – drawing the attention of top-jockeys, the strongest horses and some A-List Celebs. I will admit, the latter of which may be why I was initially drawn to say yes…
Because where there’s A-Listers, there are going to be some fab outfits on show, showcasing the very best of A/W attire. Last year, Mollie from The Saturdays, Amanda Holden and Elizabeth Hurley were all spotted wearing some very on trend colourful coats and capes, so I can’t wait to see what will be doing the rounds this year – so much so, that I thought I’d put together a few little mood boards of what I might wear. I’m still very much un-decided, so if you have any suggestions – please let me know!
