Now I will admit, I’m not a massive fan of the races. I don’t particularly like betting nor horse racing, so it’s not my first port of call when it comes to a social occasion. However, I did really enjoy attending Ascot in the summer – so when Newbury Racecourse got in touch a couple of months ago – I graciously accepted their offer of two tickets to their Bet365 Festival and eagerly started planning my outfit…
When the day itself arrived, we drove up to Newbury and braved the FREEZING cold weather for an afternoon of mulled wine, champagne and jazzy cocktails.
The premier area where we were based for the majority of the day was a mix of bars, stalls and boxes – however since it was largely based outdoors, I did struggle to enjoy myself fully when I couldn’t stop shivering. However, saying that – it was lovely to see the very lovely Lottie (albeit briefly) and explore Newbury racecourse – which despite having work done, was full of exciting things to do and explore!

If you’re a fan of racing or simply love a social get-together with a difference, this is definitely one to try next year! I think I’ll wrap up warmer next time if I’m venturing out in the cold (oops) but I still had a fab time!
