Little Black Dresses have long been a staple piece in every fashionista’s wardrobe (I actually have 3 that I turn too, in case of emergency) however finding a large selection of them in one place, seems rather hard to come by. Thankfully, a brand (that I personally feel needs more recognition as it’s fabulous) has come to our rescue – aptly named, Little Black Dress. Featuring the largest and greatest collection of gorgeous LBD’s to flatter all figures, you are sure to find your staple.
And I know that Little Black Dresses are usually whipped out during the winter months, for Christmas Parties and birthdays, but I personally love them in the summer too. Lacey, Skater Style or Diamante Trims are my favourite – as they add a little something special to the dress, however they are all fabulous for dinner on holiday, at parties and even at weddings (yes, I’m sure).

I’m not sure what is in the air at the moment, but every item of clothing that takes my fancy seems to be called ‘Scarlett’ (and even better, this one has ‘London’ in the name too). With faux leather pockets and a sleek A-Line design, this LBD is sure to flatter curvier figures like mine (I hate that word, but I didn’t know how else to describe it). I love how it hugs in just the right places, but still is comfortable and light wearing. With three quarter length sleeves, it is a little warmer than normal summer dresses – but with the ever changing British weather, I’m sure this will come in handy. It’s £120, which is more than I’d normally pay for a dress, but it really is a wardrobe staple that will last you for years. I think I’ve just persuaded myself into making a purchase. Well it is payday soon after all…
A steal at £37.50 (it’s currently in the sale) this gorgeous contemporary LBD is perfect for those that want something a little more edgy. A mix of pleats, cut out detailing and a slash neckline make this perfect for summer, and for those that have a killer figure they want to show off (and rightly so). Ideal for BBQ’s (glamorous ones, at least), weddings, parties and cocktails – it’s an investment sure to last you throughout August and beyond!
Lipstick Boutique Ilaria Dress
Again, with an A-line design and a 20’s vibe, this LBD makes the perfect summer staple for those who love their dresses to have a little something extra. Designed by Lydia Rose Bright for her collection (I know, I was surprised to discover it was by her too – but it’s gorgeous) it is currently in the sale at £35 reduced from £65. It’s a really classic design, which is one of the aspects I look for when choosing a dress myself – something that will last for several years and still look fashionable, wearable and on trend.
There’s no rule that Little Black Dresses should be entirely black, is there? Well, not in this case anyway. I am literally in love with this Louche Xandu Dress, with it’s summer inspired floral print (which is sure to make you feel very tropical – almost like you’re in Hawaii!). It’s classic cut, mixed with a V-neckline and unique print makes for the perfect LBD summer twist. It looks expensive, tailored and well fitted, yet has a very affordable price tag of £55. What more could you want?
