I've always wished that I could pick my hair like I do my clothes - out of a lookbook. Notoriously difficult to control, a bit flat and rather boring, my hair is the one thing that I can't ever really seem to 'get right'. Day to day, I roughly blow dry it and wear it straight, however this doesn't help the situation - and I'm usually at a loss with regards to wearing it 'nicely' for special occasions and events.So, it's a reassuring thought that there is actually a place out there that enables you to pick out a style (from a lookbook in fact) and within an hour, leave you feeling like a new woman (or at least, hair wise).Situated on Old Brompton Road, among the glitz and glamour of Kensington lies aer Blow Dry Bar, offering a range of treatments which can either be booked or undergone last minute (they accept walk-ins - a huge bonus!). With an event for In The Style later that evening, I put my hair into their trustworthy hands. I guess it helps that the surroundings are so relaxing too - wash white walls, stripped back light features and a rather apt 'breath of fresh aer' illuminated sign. Despite being located in one of London's most prestigious areas, I was made to feel right at home and immediately at ease (possibly helped by the complimentary glasses of prosecco - what more can a girl ask for?).After choosing a voluminousness, wavy look - my lovely stylist got to work turning a rather sorry head of hair into something a bit more spectacular. Considering my hair usually sits rather boringly flat, I was so impressed by how much lift and volume she managed to achieve. Having a blog has meant that I am lucky enough to have a few blow-drys each year however none had ever achieved one I was this happy with! Curly, bouncy, full of volume - and not a hair out of place!A good blow dry always has the ability to lift my mood - regardless of what's on my plate - and I left the salon with a new found confidence for the evening (which was much needed as we were mixing and mingling with TOWIE and Made In Chelsea).If you've got a special occasion booked - or even if you just want to treat yourself to beautiful swooshy, enviable hair - I'd head down to aer for a quick pick-me-up. It's so worth it!
