Company Blog Awards 2013

I was absolutely amazed this year to discover that I had been nominated for a Company Style Blogger Award, even more so when I took a closer look and saw it was in the 'Best Fashion Blog' category. It is such an honour to have been shortlisted - so thank you to everyone who nominated/voted for me - it means the world!As with any awards, the Style Blogger winners were announced in a glamorous ceremony in London, packed with other like minded bloggers, writers and journalists.  As you probably know, I'm a huge fan of such events and so jumped on the train with Lauren (laurengordonx.blog.com) and headed off to Shoreditch. It took us a little while to find the venue itself, which was tucked away in a little courtyard just off Brick Lane, but we managed to eventually find it once we'd teamed up with the lovely Strawberry Sisters (I love their blog - and the two sisters are just as gorgeous and well dressed in the flesh as they are on their site!).After being handed a glass of champagne on arrival (you know it's going to be a good event when this happens), we took a few pictures before heading down to give the photo booth a try.Above: my 'getting ready' process, which is probably the most time consuming activity ever. I experimented a little with smokey eyes, and went for a glittery purple shade.As you may have noticed from my tweeting/instagramming, I re-did my hair about six times prior to the event before I eventually left - but still (in true bad hair day style), my curls were droopy and lifeless by the time I arrived at the Company awards - so luckily the Paul Mitchell team were on hand to give my hair a boost!Unfortunately, Tamara and I had to leave early as we were heading off to the Lipsy VIP Awards but I had a fantastic time meeting everyone - especially as a few of the girls are coming along to the #LDNBloggersParty that I am organising in June! I can't wait to catch up with you all then!Thanks again to everyone that nominated or voted for me. I honestly didn't expect it, as my blog isn't primarily fashion based and has been down for maintenance for the past month, but it's a really lovely little boost to have been shortlisted and it's really nice to be recognised for doing something you love!Before we left, we were lucky enough to grab a Company goodie bag, which was filled with beauty treats, new jewellery and sweet treats! I can't wait to review everything on my blog in due course, here's a little sneak peek of what was inside.Congratulations to all of the fantastic winners!
