Although I invested in a pair of black over the knee boots last A/W, like most ongoing trends – they’ve been dutifully updated this season and so I treated myself to another (less bulky) more feminine version. They’ve been sitting (rather prettily) in my room for a couple of weeks, waiting for their moment to shine – however without a place to be shown off (they are a bit too ‘dressy’ for everyday wear), they were slightly redundant.
Fast forward to a few days later and I decided to just throw them on with my next ‘going out’ combination – which resulted in this outfit!
I did have a slight worry that I was going to look too over-done and a little like I was doing my best impression of Pretty Woman – however I actually really like the final look. The floaty, un-fitted nature of the black dress means that it doesn’t look too ‘OTT’ and it’s still a very wearable outfit.
The boots, despite appearances, are surprisingly comfortable – and coming from someone who looks like a drunk duck (if that’s even possible) wearing anything above 3inches in height, they’re actually super easy to walk in (and look normal) since they grip your ankles and assist with the balance. An extra bonus – is that they were only £40!
