For those who love the idea of wearing a gorgeous fitting designer dress on their birthday but simply don’t have the money to splash out on a £1,000 dress – here’s your solution. Girl meets Dress is a fantastic new online designer dress hire store that takes into account the needs of students, birthday girls and those who are fashion forward. I’m so excited to blog about Girl meets Dress because although I’ve been on their blogger mailing list for a couple of months – I decided to wait until a later date to tell all you readers about the benefits of hiring and returning. Since it’s summer coming up, you probably all have holidays, garden parties and BBQ’s to attend but you might not want to splash out on a new designer wardrobe (like me). Although some may be cynical about designer clothing, arguing that it’s simply a label and nothing special – I really feel there is benefit in wearing something expensive – for a number of reasons. You ALWAYS look and feel great, not just due to the quality and thought processes behind the design but the fact it isn’t a mass produced item – the main focus is your comfort and how you feel in the dress rather than how cheaply it can be manufactured. Although I LOVE high street stores, it’s always nice to have something expensive and flattering to wear on an important occasion! Don’t you agree?
How Girl meets Dress works is that you browse through the 500 or so dresses they have, you can filter the results with regards to size, colour and prices (which start from £29). Once you’ve picked your ideal dress, you can choose the number of nights you wish to keep it for and if you need it for a specified date. Then you simply return it after your event! It’s easy, simple and a less expensive way of looking and feeling expensive (if that makes sense). I’ve spent hours looking through their selection of dresses and they really are gorgeous! (I’ve included a few of my favourite dresses within below).
You’ll also be interested to know that Girl meets Dress have just started a permanent 10% student discount across everything on their site. Also, if it’s your birthday around the date of hiring your dress you will also receive a massive 30% off dress hire (you’ll need proof of your birthday, but it’s definitely worthwhile). Although there are other dress hiring companies out there, you really won’t find another one with the benefits and rewards Girl meets Dress has to offer! I love the company and I love the dresses. Although you don’t have to be a member to hire out a dress, there is a new membership scheme on offer (which I really think is worth looking into!). For just £39 a month, you will be able to hire out any dress you like (regardless of the price) once a month, and considering some rentals are up to £100 you are really saving some serious money by opting into the scheme. Should you not have an event to go to that month you simply ‘skip’ it and your ‘dress allowance’ rolls over onto the following month. Why not treat a friend and surprise her with an original yet gorgeous present (I’d certainly be pleased!).
