I admit – I’m a chocoholic. Going a day without chocolate, in some form or another is somewhat impossible in my books. Not great for the healthy eating plan – but a way of staying sane. So, when I heard it was National Cupcake Week and Lush were promoting their chocolate scented ‘Cupcake’ Fresh Face Mask, I didn’t hesitate to join in with all of the action.
Lush are a firm favourite of mine, with an array of gorgeous natural, fresh and effective products however despite being an avid fan of theirs, I’d never even thought to try out their face mask range. Cupcake – as the name suggests, is a chocoholic’s heaven with cocoa butter, cocoa powder and peppermint oils and is suitable for oily and teenage skin, prone to breakouts.
When you open the tub, the product itself looks quite daunting when the prospect of actually applying it to your face draws closer. With a thick consistency and a muddy brown colour, it’s not the first thing you’d think to scoop out and smear on your face but one you rinse it off 10-15 minutes later, the fresh tingling feeling you’re left with ensures that the initially weird prospect is completely justified. Similarly, the way it leaves your skin – silky soft but free of any greasiness (and smelling good enough to eat) – is utterly worth every penny.
