I don’t know about you but I absolutely love browsing eBay for style inspiration. It’s great for grabbing new ideas, reading up on latest trends and browsing the outlets for some fantastic bargains! This year, eBay’s Spring/Summer 12 collection is a little different, as five women who are well known for their individuality and creative style have been chosen to model the latest trends.
The photo shoot for the eighty-piece collection has been shot both in a studio and on the street, which I feel really reflects the ‘street style blogging’ vibe that this collection brings. It really encourages those browsing the collection to mix up high street with one-off vintage pieces, both which can be found in abundance on eBay. Even if you’ve never before shopped online before, or haven’t ever thought to look for style inspiration on eBay, there are plenty of high street brands, boutiques and vintage one-off sellers that make it so unique.
Brands featured in this season’s collection include French Connection, Dune, L.K. Bennett and the House of Fraser, all featuring some amazing staple pieces that are ideal for summer. On top of that, the collection really encompasses summer trends, as it is a mix of pastel colours, bold prints and silk.
The five faces of summer:
eBay has enlisted the help of some of the top names in fashion to flaunt the spring/summer 12 trends, and, in my opinion, has done so very successfully!
Eleonora Carisi is a regularly photographed fashion blogger and designer from Italy who quite often features on fashion forward street style blogs such as Facehunter and The Sartorialist. She has a very girlie, prim and proper demeanor to her style which I absolutely love – I’d personally describe it as a cross between Blair Waldorf and Olivia Palmero. Her favourite piece in the collection is a gorgeous red ruffle dress, which can be bought online from the eBay outlet.
British TV presenter Amal Fashanu has also been chosen to face eBay’s Spring/Summer collection and has a really effortlessly natural yet quirky and creative style. She is inspired by floral patterns and different cultures across the world, which really comes across in her outfit choices! I absolutely love her bold, block colours, which contrast with quirky prints.
US/UK based fashion photographer Lara Jade has also been handpicked to model the Spring/Summer Collection, which seems very fitting since she began a very successful fashion business at the tender age of 17, and has since worked with the likes of Mario Testino. She has a really quirky, yet girlie style that provides great style inspiration for aspiring fashionistas.
Finally, also fronting the collection are New York based stylist/blogger/ designers Anda and Masha, who seem to love flaunting the bold colours and pastel print trend that has hit the fashion world by storm lately. They told readers in their style story that they take inspiration from old movies, people on the street and photography. Their latest style obsession is mixing prints, patterns and textures.
I absolutely love the brand new Spring/Summer campaign on eBay, as it gives a real sense of personality and inspiration to the collection – and in turn, encourages shoppers to be that little bit more creative when shopping online. It’s easy to pick the same fashion favourites again and again, but, with summer trends bringing us more prints and bold colours, it might be worth trying something new. eBay has such a wide selection of online boutiques, vintage stores and fashion outlets to shop from that you are certain to find something that matches your budget and taste, and, if you are stuck for inspiration, you can have a peek at the style stories!
Online shopping is paving the way forward for fashion and if this season’s eBay campaign is anything to go by, this won’t slow down! Visit the style stories collection here – http://www.stylecollective.ebay.co.uk/style-stories .
