Although I love high end foundations and moisturisers, often the very best basics are those bought from the drugstore. I seem to get through endless concealers, mascaras and BB/CC cream so not having to spend £30+ on each individual item is not only beneficial for the bank balance, but my skin too.
SEVENTEEN is one of my go-to brands for all things beauty, as their mascara and concealer especially are incredible. Recently, they launched their very own CC Cream so in a bid to give everything a go altogether – I thought I’d create an entire make-up look using SEVENTEEN only products.
First up is the brand new CC Cream (£6.99), spotted rather frequently backstage at LFW and used to create a light, yet hydrating and flawless skin finish. The difference between BB and CC is only subtle, yet in my case – completely essential. BB Creams are an import from the Asian beauty marketplace, providing coverage and added skincare benefits such as SPF and anti-oxidants. They are much thicker than tinted moisturisers but feel lighter than foundation and in many cases, are far more hydrating.
CC Cream however, stands for colour correction and helps even out any redness or uneven skin tones. The SEVENTEEN edition has a very whipped, light and fluffy finish – almost like you’ve used powder and a foundation in one. It has yellow pigments, meaning that it tones down any redness but warms up your overall skin tone. Rather impressive for a tiny little tube.
The Miracle Matte Concealer Stick is a rather nifty little invention, shaped like a lipstick and with a silky soft consistency, but drying matte rather than shiny – which can often glare through foundation. It’s super easy to apply and just a few quick dabs onto your skin blends it in seamlessly. At £3.99, it’s a really affordable and effective product.
The SEVENTEEN Falsifeye Mascara (£6.99) is another really impressive product, providing non clumpy, non flaky thickening and lengthening coverage. It dries instantly (rather than leaving you with that awful sticky feeling) and can be built up to form a dramatic look, or applied sparingly for a day look.
What do you think of SEVENTEEN make-up? Have you tried their new CC Cream? I’d love to know your thoughts!
