Last week we were invited to the Fashion Monitor LFW beauty lounge at the Mayfair Hotel, and what an amazing time we had.
I arrived at the hotel just after 6.30pm and went up to the beautiful Amarillo Suite where I was met by the lovely Fashion Monitor girls. Once I hung up my coat and picked up a cocktail I took a look around the gorgeous suite. To the right was the bedroom where hair care brand Wow Color had taken over, in the middle were an army of beauty therapists giving manicures and threading eyebrows and to the left was an array of bloggers and beauty professionals. There was so much going on it was difficult to decide where to start but once looking down at my unvarnished nails I immediately booked a manicure for 7.30pm.
Just before 7pm Feel Unique Beauty Director Alice Manning gave a little presentation about FeelUnique.com as they were the official sponsor. The presentation was amazing as we were able to learn a bit about the company and find out some cool facts; did you know that 1 in 5 women are now buying their beauty online?
After the presentation everyone but about 8 of us went off to mingle whilst we sat comfortably on the sofa waiting for the Green and Blacks presentation. As I was talking to the Green and Black guys earlier on in the night, he advised to grab a seat on the sofa and get comfortable as there would be a chocolate and wine tasting. I obviously got pretty comfortable – chocolate and wine in one place, yum!
The presentation was given by the very handsome Professional Taster, Brandt. He knew exactly what he was talking about and told us to do things like hold our noses whilst be chewed the white chocolate, which wasn’t easy at all, and then release the hold to get a hit of the Madagascan Vanilla. All the chocolate was amazing and the wine pairings were perfect. We tried 3 different wines and so many different chocolates, I was in my element. If I had to choose a favourite I would probably say the milk chocolate with sea salt or the white chocolate with vanilla.
After the presentation I mingled with a few ladies and then went off to get my nails done. There were so many colours to choose from but I decided to go for the Rococo Nail Apparel in Boyfriend, which was a gorgeous periwinkle blue. The colour is stunning and I had so many complements throughout the night!
Later on in the evening I headed over to the bedroom where there was a little crowd. The guys from Wow Color we’re changing lives in that room I tell you! They showed us their new product Root Cover Up, which is probably the answer to every dyed-haired girls’ dreams. This product is like an eye shadow that sticks to the hair and covers the colour so if you have roots it will cover them in the most natural way, and will only come out once you wash your hair. I was literally mesmerised by this product and although I’ve made the vow to never dye my hair again, I want it!
Before I left I made sure I took a few style snaps of the Fashion Monitor and Feel Unique girls as they looked so amazing and they all had their makeup done by the Urban Decay makeup artists.
The evening was so much fun and extremely informative. I’m a huge fan of Feel Unique as they were my saviour when I was living abroad, far from the brands I love. I’m very glad I was able to go to the event and I met some lovely people. Needless to say the goody bag was really good, always a plus right?
