As the Fashion Writer for Scarlett London, I am lucky enough to receive many an invite from Scarlett to attend fashiony fun events.
Being the age that I am, I often can’t attend – as soon as you hit 24, it seems that every woman and their cat are getting married or having babies and as well as trying to find my perfect career, I often find weeks pass me by with a bat of an eyelid.
So I’m sorry for my complete rubbishness with posting, hopefully I’ll be back up and running soon with plenty of fash goss, trend updates and general ramblings.
After receiving this invitation, I found it hard to resist popping along for an hour to this event and sampling the gorgeous clothes, lovely cupcakes and ogling over the amazing shoes on offer. After all, if a PR company that represents amazing brands such as Paul & Joe and Melissa invites you to a sneaky peek of the AW12 collections, you’d be mad to miss it. So I strolled down to Piccadilly Circus on a gorgeous hot day in London and found some fashion gems.
On entering the studios, I immediately spotted these brightly coloured boat shoes and slippers by Melissa, the designer famed for her cute collaboration of shoes with fashion royalty Vivienne Westwood. Fashionistas everywhere adored the embellished heart designs seen in previous seasons and these super sweet follow up shoes are perfect for summer looks.
As well as amazing clothing, H|PR also represent many a lingerie brand. Getting your lingerie right is the perfect start to an outfit and with the pyjama party being shown on MIC last week (did anyone else throw away their second helping of pudding after watching that?!), making sure your underwear drawer is stocked with more prettiness and cute pieces is more fashionable than ever.
So I was pleased to find many a rail stocked with lovely underwear by the hottest new names on the block, ID Sarrieri, Ell & Ce and Lascivious. This beautiful camo-coloured flower slip by Beautiful Bottoms is perfect for getting you in the mood to leave those favourite thermals behind! If you want to embrace the pyjama trend but don’t fancy flashing the flesh, the general trend of silky savvyness is still big.
The TBA brand offers the amazing two piece pyjama suit with a metallic gold paisley print. I personally wouldn’t have the confidence to rock the two piece look but I adore the idea of mixing the individual pieces with staple skinnies or fine knits and Zara strap sandals.
Now anyone who knows me knows I love a good dress. Perfect for the lazy girl, the dress doesn’t require much thinking. It will look good on anyone providing you get the style right for your shape.
I have recently opened my wardrobe up to the bold and bright shades of Summer 2012. Pastels, hot pinks, metallic silvers, anything goes. Embracing the rainbow is easier than you think and this Sophia Kah yellow dress is perfect for adding a bit of colour in your life. The collection may be for Autumn Winter but if I owned this dress I certainly wouldn’t be waiting that long to wear it.
Good news if you’re a fan of Sport-luxe. Liz Black and Eugene Lin favour the athletic look in their AW designs. Silky and sleek, the Liz Black creation shows aqua blue tones in a simple chic shape while the Eugene Lin design pays homage to the optical illusion trend with a white body-con look.
We all know outfits are nothing without accessories. H|PR are representing re-established brand Shellys along with other gorgeous shoe designers.
These Charkviani grey beauties are very Charlotte Olympia-esque with their chunky sole and high court shape and the lovely leopard print edged high green slippers are by up and coming name Sophie Gittens.
Finally, a good piece of jewellery always makes your outfit that little bit more interesting and the selection seen at the press day didn’t disappoint.
Sarah Ho and Kyle Hopkins will definitely be names judging from their press day selections.
Sarah Ho provided cute bracelets and stunning cocktail rings while Kyle Hopkins’ collection was truly unique.
As explained by the lovely H|PR each piece is designed by Kyle and holds a special meaning to him. Stand out pieces include the ear necklace and the amazing circular necklace that represented the circle of life.
A full list of brands represented by H|PR is available on their website – if the press day is anything to go by, these Autumn Winter collections are definitely worth a look.
