Jeans are the ultimate ‘go to’. Worn dressed up with heels and a strappy top, or dressed down with UGG’s and a hoodie (we’ve all been there), you can’t really go wrong. However, when it comes to finding a pair that are comfortable, flattering and fit well, this can often be another story. New Look have recently launched their new ‘Denim’ New Jeans campaign, alongside hundreds of pairs of new jeans, with an improved fit and feel. In terms of affordability and quality, New Look have always been a great option with regards to jeans and denim wear – so I couldn’t wait to see which new styles they had available.
Skinny – skinny jeans are probably my favourite, as they flatter lots of different shapes and sizes, are (usually) rather comfy and they look bang on trend. Whether you opt for coated skinnies (faux leather coated pairs are AW13 favourites), acid wash or plain and simple blue, you’re sure to be able to team them with anything.
Highrise Skinny – If you hate the way skinny jeans tend to wiggle their way down your bum and before you know it, end up round your ankles (well, sort of), or if you prefer a little extra support around the hips, highrise are definitely your point of call.
Super Skinny – Although these sound rather daunting, super skinnies (often referred to as spray ons) tend to be a little softer in material than regular skinnies, allowing for that tight, spray on look. With ‘super’ not necessarily meaning ‘tighter’, I own several pairs of these are they are really comfortable and flattering.
Bootcut – Bootcuts have made a real comeback in the last few years, looking absolutely gorgeous with a ruffle top, bold printed cami or an off the shoulder t-shirt. Whilst it can be tempting to go for the ‘bigger the better’, making sure bootcut styles don’t swamp your figure can be a little tricky at first, so make sure they are well fitted on the thigh first – as the slight flare should only start at the knees onwards.
Jeggings – jeggings are usually made out of a combination of thin denim and Lycra, meaning they are a real cross between leggings and jeans. New Look have some really gorgeous jeggings this season, ideal for the Summer/Autumn transition and perfect for lounging around the house, as well as nights out. The most versatile of all the jean styles, a pair of new jeggings for Autumn/Winter is an essential in my book.
