I’ve always been a bit of a ‘fantasy’ shopper online, filling my baskets with various outfits I have no intention of buying (*well my bank balance says otherwise*). This summer, I’ve had lots of time recovering at home in bed, which has meant that this hobby of mine has only been fuelled further. Creating lists upon lists of outfits I just need to own, I’m not quite sure why someone hasn’t shut my asos account down yet for my own safety.
However, while imaginary shopping baskets are all well and good, I recently partnered with Lyst and discovered a whole new world of this slightly unhealthy addiction. A place where you can favourite the items you love, creating a personalised store tailored exactly to your preferences.
Once you sign up, you’re whizzed over a number of questions about fashion brands. It’s not a strenuous quiz by any means (actually it’s quite enjoyable, deciding which brands you prefer) and whets your appetite for the choices it’s about to prepare for your upcoming ‘lyst’. Anything that takes you fancy can be ‘lysted’ on your profile – and the hours spend picking items to accompany it ensue.
I decided to try it out, properly, for myself – opting for a kind of summer wedding theme (although really and truly, it’s just stuff I’m lusting over).
This gorgeous petal lace midi dress is by Self Portrait and despite being quite complex in design, I think would be so versatile for any season. It looks well made (and I’m sure it is, with a £290 price tag) but it’s the kind of dress you’d go to for any special occasion and for that, I’m sure well worth it!
Another favourite is this gorgeous Rodo black feather clutch, something I’ve had my eye on forever it seems – as it’s been copied numerous times on the high street, but none have yet mastered how stunning this bag is! It’s the ideal evening clutch bag, but it’s not so ridiculously small that you can’t even fit the iPhone 6 in it (yep, many of them are so minute, that this is a genuine problem).
What’s on your lust lyst?
