So, we’re three episodes in and already we’ve had a rather messy breakup, a trip to Verbier, a steamy hot-tub party, another London Fashion Week and some questionable chunky knits from Spennie. As much as I adore the addictive drama and perfectly-timed awkward silences, it’s the fashion that keeps me hooked. So I’ve put together a style round-up of all the girly looks that we’ve secretly been googling.
Episode 1
The series began with Millie, Rosie and Binky casually discussing the infamous Spencer slap that ended series 4. There wasn’t anything exciting going on in terms of fashion apart from Millie’s knit and necklace combo.
The neutral tones in both pieces are really understated and feminine and work incredibly well together. Here’s how you can re-create her casual top half!
1) Asymmetric Jumper 2) Chain Fabric Collar 3) Pink Stitch Jumper 4) Premium Rhinestone Collar
On to the Young Kato gig where there were a few things to shout about. The first being that choker! Paired with a simple white tee and a tough leather jacket, the choker is the perfect bit of bling to turn Louise’s outfit from simple to showstopper.
Here are a few alternatives you can try.
1) White Tee 2) Leather Jacket 3) Flower Layered Collar 4) Semi Precious Stone Collar 5) Chain Wrap Necklace
And of course, it would have been dreadfully out of character if Millie hadn’t been seen in a bit of embellishment…
In my opinion, the best way to work a jacket like this is to keep the rest of the outfit simple. Here are a few that have caught my eye recently.
1) Topshop 2) Asos Floral Embellished 3) Kimono Style Blazer 4) Lipsy Beaded Jacket
Episode 2
On to episode 2 where we were forced to sit through a ridiculously awkward Cheska, Binky and Ollie reunion (pre-lucy). Cheska’s studded jacket was seriously cool and Binky’s tangerine nails made a stylish statement with minimal effort.
Um…*awkward twitching from Ollie*
Let’s move on.
Spencer, Josh and Proudlock met up in the The Hollywood Arms and as the entire cast always have impeccable timing, in walked Millie and Rosie wearing some seriously cool ensembles. True to form, Millie stated the obvious;
“What the *** is he wearing?” My thoughts exactly. Obviously directed at Spencer who looked like he should have been herding cattle instead of sipping cocktails. Sorry Spennie.
Millie on the other hand looked as chic as ever and faced Spencer wearing an all-black look with a simple necklace and boots. You can get your hands on her actual necklace below. It was crafted by London-based Zara Taylor, a talented designer specialising in vintage-inspired jewellery. Take a peek at her amazing creations here: http://zarataylor.co.uk/index.php/
1) Black Top 2) Necklace 3) Other Necklace 4) Trousers 5) Bracelets 6) Handbag
Over to Verbier now where Phoebe seductively threw off her furs to reveal…um pretty much everything.
If you’re headed into the sun and fancy stealing the limelight with a sexy plunging neckline then try one of these…
1) Asos 2) Asos 3) Asos 4) French Connection
On to Binky and Cheska’s emotional breakup! Binks was still rocking her tangerine nail polish and Cheks turned up in a cool eagle necklace and trademark leather jacket. Here are a few animal-inspired alternatives to help you steal Cheska’s style.
1) Zara 2) River Island 3) Topshop
Last but not least we come to my favourite shirt ever. Olivia was wearing a vintage-inspired cut-out shirt when she went out for sushi with Josh. The blouse is from Nasty Gal and much to my despair it sold out in a matter of days! But you can keep an eye on it to see if it gets re-stocked here!
Or try this one instead. It’s just as cute with the same vintage feel.
Episode 3
The emotion and extravagance of London Fashion Week came flooding back into our lives during episode 3 and as expected, the fashion was to die for.
First we went on a rather extravagant shopping trip with two of my favourite characters.
Mark to Victoria: “I really want you to see this shop; they’ve got uber-chic menswear.” And with that darling, Mark and Victoria stole the series with my absolute favourite scene so far…darling. Oh would you stop it!
Victoria’s outfit in this scene was definitely a love it or hate it situation. She was wearing Sorapol London; as a brand they are very loud, very much focused on the visual and the artistic. Each and every piece in their SS13 collection is a kaleidoscope of colour.
Personally, I love it! So if you fancy giving it a go then here’s a couple of ways you can re-create it. And if you are brave enough, it’s probably best to keep Victoria’s words of wisdom in mind; “There’s no such thing as too much, Mark.”
1) Blouse 2) Skirt 3) Jacket 4) Ted Baker Belt 5) New Look Bag
1) Dress 2) Heels 3) Zara Clutch
On to another winning look from Victoria! Her dark green lace dress, as she very proudly stated, is Valentino (sorry girls). If you don’t fancy taking out a bank loan or selling vital organs then have a look at these affordable versions:
1) New Look 2) Midi Dress in Lace 3) Bodycon Dress in Lace 4) Dress with Dropped Waist
Post-break up, Louise walked over to Millie’s apartment where we found her wearing an adorable blue and white printed blouse, skinny jeans and some simple accessories.
1) East Floral Blouse 2) MK watch 3) Topshop Jeans 4) Necklace
Fashion Week came to an end and we headed on to Jalouse in Mayfair for one of those after after parties that Mark and Victoria found terribly amusing at the beginning of the episode. Rosie welcomed everyone in a cut-out Three Floor dress that you can get your hands on here!
Just as we think the episode is nicely coming to an end (did it really have anyone fooled though?) cue Louise for another dramatic Spencer showdown! This time she was dressed for victory in an incredible 80’s-inspired outfit! You go girl.
She makes a seriously stylish ex-girlfriend don’t you think? Here’s how you can steal the whole look, single or not!
1) White Topshop Blazer 2) Tee 3) Necklace
Have you got a favourite outfit from the series so far?
