I’ve been Christmas shopping now for what seems like months. I can spend hours scouring websites for gifts, filling up my basket before leaving with absolutely nothing. Everything just seems very – bland. There’s not an awful lot of personality behind a lot of gifts, which is okay if it’s a particular beauty branded item – or from a clothing store, but not so great if you want to add a really personal touch. A couple of weeks ago, a lovely lady from Imagine PhotoWords got in touch, forwarding details of her unique gift that really grabbed my attention.
I love giving framed photographs away as gifts but there’s something a little unprofessional about me printing them in Boots and purchasing a frame from the high street, it doesn’t quite look ‘finished’. PhotoWords however have come up with a really simple but unique idea to turn those photos into something a little more creative – that looks far fancier on the mantlepiece.
The idea is that you pick a word – depending on who you’re planning to give it to, you can choose accordingly – so for example ‘mum’, then you choose a number of corresponding photographs to the number of letters in the word. The finished product is a gorgeous ‘collage’ of photographs, framed and mounted to perfection.
I was kindly able to review one for myself – opting for the word ‘Love’ with pictures of myself and my boyfriend – initially a little cliche sounding but it looks so lovely on the mantlepiece (which I have in preparation for the flat we are getting next year).
You can order your PhotoWord directly from the website here | link – as well as from Etsy and NotOnTheHighStreet where they are also stocked. PhotoWords are created uniquely for you and made to measure, so if there is a specific specification you require, get in touch – and they will probably be able to accommodate it!
Would you gift one of these Photowords to a friend or relative this Christmas? Do you have any other unique ideas for presents?
