Aaah, I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of summer – next week will mark the final year of school life and then I will have to actually make some big decisions about whether to go to university or not. It’s scary stuff..! Summer for me has mainly been about getting work experience in the industry I want to enter into, and in that respect it’s been a success – the weather however, is another matter.
Last week I worked as a runner for a successful post-production house, which was really beneficial to me in helping to decide what part of the media I want to enter into. A runner’s job in television isn’t the most glam of jobs (but who cares), it’s about getting my foot in the door and impressing the people you need to impress (hopefully my efforts paid off). If you want to work in television – then you have to start out as a runner and work your way up. Overall, it was a really great week – I learnt a lot, met a lot of lovely people and best of all – there is perhaps a job on offer on the way. Watch this space!
Apart from work experience, I haven’t really done a lot this summer – which in a way is quite nice actually, although doing nothing does get tedious after awhile. I got my results a few weeks ago, which I was dreading. Surprisingly, I got 2 A’s and 2 B’s which I’m pleased with!
Anyway, I shall stop ranting. These posts are often boring, as to be perfectly honest – my life isn’t as interesting as other worldly gossip, however I just thought I should update you!
