I used to post pretty much every week about little online quirky jewellery stores and alternative pieces, however for some reason these types of posts have slowed down and have somewhat been replaced by beauty reviews! I am determined to compensate for that somehow and make sure that the quirky jewellery posts are more frequent! And what a better way to start off than to tell you about my latest find, Raspberrygrape – a gorgeous little online store with afford-ably priced jewellery that you simply can’t find anywhere on the high street!
Founded only a few months ago (in March) by Lauren Jay McCallum, Raspberrygrape has gone from strength to strength and is fast becoming a bloggersphere favourite! When Lauren began the shop, she initially opened it as a way of selling her homemade bracelets online however she now stocks some gorgeous rings and vintage style necklaces. She quite rightly states that she only sells pieces that she would personally wear, as she doesn’t believe in selling something you don’t like yourself. She tries hard to make sure the jewellery she stocks is as unique as possible and personally, I think she has definitely succeeded in doing so!
I was lucky enough to review two selected pieces from the latest Raspberrygrape Collection, both of which are handmade by Lauren herself! The first of the two pieces is the Liquorice Allsort bracelet which is both simple and quirky. I absolutely love Liquorice Allsort style jewellery but often find that a whole bracelet reminiscent of sweets is a little overpowering, so with just two sweeties the Raspberrygrape version is a little more subtle. It is currently a sale item on the website and is priced at just £3.00 with free UK delivery.
The second of the two items is a cute skull bracelet, which sits on the same black string but adorns a little colored skull. I personally would never really consider wearing skull embalazoned jewellery (before now) , however this bracelet is subtle enough to wear on a daily basis and the skull isn’t frightening or gothic, but quite sweet actually.
I feel as though both bracelets would be perfect on the wrists of those who are heading off to a festival this summer, as they really carry a sort of summer vibe and I can imagine them being stacked and mixed and matched next to your festival wristband! I love how the bracelets are quite simple but also very quirky and bright, making them the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe!
