I was a little hesitant to do a Christmas ‘haul’ or ‘what I got for Christmas post’, because I know it can often come across in a rather boastful or bragging way. However, as Emma on Twitter quite rightly stated, ‘these kind of posts appeal to our nosey side’, and since I’m a very nosey person and love having a look at what others got in their stocking, I thought it was only fair to reveal what was wrapped up in mine.
Before I start, I do want to say that I have been extremely lucky this year and really don’t want this to come across as a ‘look at what I got, I’m so spoilt’ kind of post, but simply one where I share what I have received, which will hopefully interest you! I know a few of you mentioned that I should only include fashion/beauty items in my post, however the majority of items I received don’t really fit this category, so I hope you won’t mind me posting anyway!
iPad 3rd Generation
I have wanted an iPad for years, but since I had a laptop and a phone already, never really saw the necessity in asking for one, or buying myself one. Since starting my blog however, I have found it increasingly difficult to blog on the move, as blog.com isn’t hosted on an app (so I can’t do it from my phone), and I’m so nervous about taking my laptop out and about and breaking it, so it has never really been a possibility. This Christmas, I was lucky enough to receive an iPad and am already enjoying the freedom of blogging, tweeting and taking pictures on the move, without the hassle of uploading them onto my laptop, booting the laptop up, trying desperately to connect it to the nearest Wi-Fi and then slowly uploading them onto my blog. Hopefully this will mean that I will be able to blog far more easily from events and special occasions, as well as keeping my blog up to date when I’m travelling and on the move!
Louis Vuitton Bag
I am a huge handbag lover, and a pink obsessive, so this present from my grandparents fitted me perfectly. Although I won’t part with my Mulberry easily, I shall definitely be using my new handbag to take to events – as it’s really light weight and despite it’s size, fits a rather large amount of stuff in. I wasn’t expecting to receive this at all, so was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up! I think the bold pink colour will look great in summer, so I can’t wait to use it!
Vera Wang Princess
I have wanted to try this perfume out for absolutely ages but have never got round to buying it. Vera Wang’s fragrances have the perfect mix of floral and fruity notes, which is so girly but not to the point of being sickly or overpowering. Admittedly, a major part of the reason I love this fragrance is due to the bottle, which is so pretty with a crown lid and a heart shaped design, however the scent itself is gorgeous too – and is perfect for evening wear or similarly, when going out for lunch.
Jack Wills Sleepshirt
I love Jack Wills, despite it’s rather over inflated price tag on pretty much every item, so I was very pleased to see a gorgeous navy and pink stripey sleep shirt pop up in my stocking (thanks to my boyfriend). I love pj’s, don’t get me wrong, and equally, I love my onesie, but more often than not, I normally end up sleeping in an old stretchy t-shirt, so it seemed only fitting to actually sleep in something designed for sleep wear. It’s so comfy and so soft (and is probably in the sale now!).
Gossip Girl Season 5
Each year, I look forward not only to mulled wine and Xmas dinner, but my Gossip Girl box set which never fails to entertain me for the holidays. I must spend around four to five days solid (today included) getting through the box-set, and for those five blissful days, I escape into the world of Manhattan’s elite, following Serena, Blair, Chuck, Nate and Dan through their never ending dramas, feuds and love affairs. It’s not exactly educational, but it’s definitely worth a watch if you haven’t already got stuck in!
Burberry Scarf
I’m utterly terrible with scarves, and tend to lose them within a week of wear, so I have been living relatively scarf-less until this Christmas, when I received a gorgeous lambs-wool Burberry scarf, complete with it’s famous pattern. It’s so soft, and so warm and goes with everything, so I’m really pleased!
Chocolate
Anyone who knows me will know that I am an absolute choco-holic and would eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could (in fact, I can, and sometimes I do). So, inevitably, a large amount of chocolate found it’s way into my stocking this year. One of my favourites (aside from the Terry’s Chocolate Orange, which I can normally consume in a whole morning) was Hotel Chocolat’s Eton Mess Bar, which consists of a strawberry and vanilla block, with cookie, meringue and freeze dried strawberry pieces. Yummy!
I’d love to know what you all got for Christmas, so if you’ve recently blogged about your Christmas haul, or would simply like to share what you received, please leave your links below, or tweet me!
