I absolutely love blogging competitions because not only do they allow you to be creative and unique, but also give you the chance to express yourself in your own way and be recognised for it. So, when LOOK announced their recent blogging competition, I was very excited! Immediately, ideas sprang to mind about how I could express why I should win a front row seat at the Look Show A/W11 – however it took awhile to bundle them all together in order to create an expressive unique entry that didn’t sound too cliché or unoriginal. Here it is:
Firstly, I absolutely LOVE Look magazine and make sure that either myself or my mum nips to the shop on a weekly basis to buy a copy. Secondly, I love Fashion (which is what this competition’s all about) and I have aspirations to become a fashion journalist – so an opportunity to sit front row at Look’s fashion show would be one experience that would be sure to benefit me in what I want to achieve later in life. However, I realise that simply stating what I love isn’t enough to win a front row seat – so I decided to express my love for LOOK magazine and fashion pictorially – as I often love doing. Here’s the finished article – (wouldn’t it be amazing if this was actually a dress!)
Initially I started my blog so that when I eventually applied for jobs in fashion journalism – people would have an example of my style and writing – however, to have a head start and blog live from LOOK’s A/W11 show would be amazing! There’s no doubt about the fact it would be an absolutely amazing experience! I also read Lily Melrose’s article regarding her win last September and again, she reiterated for me how unique and beneficial the experience would be – not only for her blog, but also for the opportunities that follow alongside it.
I think that I should have the chance to blog at the LOOK show, because I’m passionate about what I do, I love fashion and most of all – it would be the chance of a lifetime to work alongside my favourite magazine. I’m sure there’s nothing more satisfying to have your name in print in LOOK! Although my blog is relatively new to the blogging scene, I try to provide varied content for readers – which is expressed in the most engaging, readable way. I try to aim to build up a conversation-type writing style for my readers to enjoy, which means that everyone is directly involved and everyone can express their views on my posts. Plus, I love writing – so although my blog isn’t full of photographs of myself in creative outfits (as quite frankly, I much prefer writing about creative outfits with a couple of photographs) I think that I offer a chatty, light hearted and fun review on fashion.
I hope you like my creative LOOK covers dress, of which I feel is the best way possible to express why I should win in just one picture! I’ll be LOOK-ing out for updates! xx
