I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE Sex & The City. I’ve only recently got stuck into my collection of boxsets (which are steadily increasingly), but I am so in awe of the outfits, the lifestyle and the hilarious situations the girls get into that I practically feel like the 5th member of the group. It always seems to be summer in New York (or at least warm so Carrie can wear her endless collection of gorgeous dresses and skirts), so when better to recreate her looks then now?
Since I can’t actually be in the series myself (it took me awhile to graciously accept this fact), I’ve decided that the next best thing is to at least put together a few S&TC inspired outfits for the summer season.

Lunch Date
Whether it’s with the girls, or with a lucky man – this lunch date ensemble is perfect for any aspiring New York fashionista. Carrie is all about colour, so this outfit accentuates this, ready for summer! The scalloped hem jacket is rather formal (or prim and proper, as I like to say) but the bold print of the dress makes it that little bit more casual! The simple, understated necklace still allows the dress to stand as the statement piece, but brings the whole outfit together.
In Carrie’s world, there’s no such thing as being ‘overdressed’.

Shopping With The Girls
Another bright outfit that was MADE for Carrie. The strapless printed lantern dress brings the whole pink/white/green outfit together, complete with a modern take on an envelope clutch. The jacket, which admittedly is rather bold when teamed with the dress (but it works, I promise) has a really unique lapel which sits really well on even the most dainty of shoulders. Often, you find that blazers and jackets can swamp petite figures (which of course, Carrie has) but this one is perfect for all shapes and sizes!

Wedding
Maybe this dress is a little tame in Carrie’s books (she did wear a tuxedo to her best friends wedding after all), but I saw it and fell in love – it’s too good to not include! I love how these nudes and pinks go together, it all looks so elegant and summery!

Picnic In The Park
Okay, okay – so Carrie and co didn’t exactly go for many picnics during their time on the show, but I felt this dress was too S&TC-esque to miss. Carrie loves an off the shoulder number at the best of times, so why not pass up the opportunity to wear one in the great outdoors?

Cocktails In The City
Carrie ALWAYS dresses up for cocktails, probably more so then any other occasion – so why shouldn’t we? It sounds strange, but this outfit would look ah-mazing with peacock eyes (this video is an amazing tutorial) for that added pop of Carrie colour!
