I initially wanted to write this post a week ago, but since starting a new job – writing up new posts every day has proved rather difficult. Last week, the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2012 shortlist was announced and I am very flattered to have been shortlisted for the Newcomer Blog Award (which is sponsored by Next). Thank you to all those who nominated my blog, I really appreciate you taking the time to do so and I’m ever so pleased to have been shortlisted.
A lot of time and hard work goes into my blog and although it gets a bit much at times, it’s lovely to be recognised in such a way. I have looked at all the other blogs shortlisted and have to stay – there is some very stiff competition! Each and every one of the blogs shortlisted is amazing in a different way and until now, I didn’t actually realize how many fantastic blogs there are out there that offer something different to the reader! I think a blog is all about personality (whether this is in the writing or the photos) and there are so many blogs which maintain a real sense of individuality and personality.
My blog has developed quite extensively since it launched in May 2011 and I now have five writers who assist me in coming up with content and attending events on the blog’s behalf. Hopefully, the variety of topics and writers makes it a more interesting read – as I like to think Scarlett London is similar to a small online magazine, with a little bit more personality! However, I’d always love to hear your feedback on my blog in the hope I can constantly improve and develop it, so please don’t hesitate to let me know. Many people don’t realize you can comment anonymously on my blog, simply just leave an incorrect email address (it won’t check). This isn’t for nasty comments, but constructive feedback though! I’m always open to new ideas and any thoughts you may have!
If you want to try your hand at writing for my blog, please email me (you will find my contact details in the contact section of my blog), as I am constantly on the lookout for new writers. Ideally, I’d love people who live in London or nearby (so you can attend events) but I’m just looking for writers who genuinely love blogging/writing/fashion/tv/celebs etc! Please do get in touch!
I don’t expect to win the blog award by any means, but it’s lovely to have been shortlisted! I believe that the winner is based on 50% votes and 50% judge’s decision – so I guess I may stand a small chance! If you would like to vote for me and you have a second to spare, there is a widget on my sidebar which will take you straight to the voting page. It would mean the world to me if you voted! Thank you!
