With a new season comes new trends and I for one can’t wait to give them a try! To make things a little easier, here’s three of Autumn/Winter’s top trends and my pick of the best high-street pieces to help you pull them off!
It’s time to dig out those cable knits and riding boots, because heritage is big this Autumn! Think classic tweeds and tartans in deep burgundies, forest greens and navy blues with equestrian details. At the end of a very patriotic year it only seems apt to celebrate this fair country!
Olivia Palermo always puts heritage inspired pieces together so perfectly – like this tweed jacket and sheepskin coat.
You may have noticed the gothic trend creeping back in, with studs and crosses adorning anything and everything! But black by no means equals boring – the secret lies in the textures. Pleather, feathers, velvet, snakeskin, knits – there’s so many ways to keep black interesting! And don’t forget a slick of dark lipstick to seal the deal!
New style crush, Emma Stone, stepped out in a stunning gothic number at the premier of The Amazing Spider-man earlier this year – complete with dark lips!
The baroque trend is all about luxe fabrics. Velvet and satin in berry-coloured brocades and jacquards give an opulent feel, and any excuse for embellishment is encouraged. If you’re feeling brave, mix prints and fabrics, or for just a dabble in the trend, team a statement piece with plain black.
Ever the trendsetter, Florence braves head-to-toe paisley with some perfect velvet slippers!
So there you have it! Three gorgeous autumn winter trends that I guarantee will be huge this season. I hope you’re now feeling as inspired as I am to try out these new trends in one way or another!
