Now that I have finished work for the summer, my availability has opened up a little more, meaning my ‘yes’ RSVPs to events are now far more often than my ‘no’s. So, when an invite popped through my inbox a few days ago for the launch of the new Vichy Idealia Life Serum and the launch of their new campaign with beauty vlogger Tanya Burr, I practically jumped at the chance. Hosted at the very top of the Centre Point building on Oxford Street (in the Paramount bar and restaurant) not only was the evening set to be a good one – but one with a great view too!
So, arriving with my friend Sophy from lashesandsplashes, we rode the lift to the 31st floor and entered the world of Vichy. With everything decked out in pastel pink (including the flowers) and an ice sculpture standing as the focal point of the evening, I set about photographing the venue from every possible angle – before chatting to one of the lovely ladies at Vichy about the new Life Serum.
Formulated for women who love living life to the full, the Idealia Life Serum is a gorgeously silky in texture and has pink and gold light reflecting pigments which look lovely under your foundation – for that glowing, dewy, summer look. Acting as an instant awakener for those affected by fatigue and stress, the serum itself comes out as a cream, but applies as a gel – meaning it’s not only hydrating, but also very refreshing on your skin.
With ingredients which claim to act against the signs of aging, protecting your skin from pollution and other environmental factors, I did ask the ladies at Vichy whether starting ‘anti-aging’ young, is really worth all the hassle. At 19, anti-aging isn’t really high on my list of priorities for my skincare routine – but I did wonder, should it be? If I start early, will it help me in the long term? The answer itself, was a resounding yes and that although your skincare routine develops with age, as you ask for different things out of it, protecting your skin against environmental factors and using a serum can only be doing more good, than anything else. It’s more of a habitual thing as well, as you get into a good routine and therefore are setting yourself up for great skin in the future.
After receiving a sample to take home, I am going to trial the life serum for a few weeks and let you know what I think! I personally think it’s great that the serum smells so amazing, yet is perfect for sensitive skin (as it’s paraben free) as normally skincare that is suitable for problematic or sensitive skin feels very clinical and has no scent at all – leaving you with a very boring, uninteresting product. However, the Life Serum smells fresh and fragrant, it sparkles on your skin and it hydrates almost to the point you could replace your moisturizer with it!
After a very tiring evening last night (wearing heels and perhaps being a little too overzealous with the delicious blackberry belinis), I can safely say that the Idealia Serum is a life saver!
Not only were we treated to demonstrations of the new products – but also to the fantastic canape boards that were brought round by the lovely staff at Paramount. Displayed almost Heston Blumenthal esque (with liquid nitrogen, incense and a variety of flowers), every time a new canape was brought round, the conversation stopped just to view how fantastic it looked!
As many of you were asking on my Instagram – I did spot Tanya Burr at the event, as she is the ambassador for the new range – and was featured on a number of video tutorials which were playing around the room. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to go and speak to her as there was so much going on – and I met up with the lovely Ellie and Hana, but she looked gorgeous and was available on the night to chat all things beauty blogging and Dermablend.
Thanks ever so much to Vichy for putting on an amazing event!
