My poor boyfriend is a bit miffed at having to suddenly be roped into taking outfit posts every five seconds, so naturally – I disguised today’s by ‘having a walk in the park’. With my six inch heeled boots in my bag, and a jacket over the top – I felt safe in the knowledge that nothing would be suspected until we were far enough immersed into our walk that he wouldn’t notice me whip the camera out of my bag and thrust it into his hands.
I was found out.
But it was okay, luckily – he was more than happy to oblige.
I’m not actually wearing these boots today in real life. But I felt it wasn’t ‘outfit post-y’ enough to admit to wearing my flip flops with this dress (again, I’m not a model so my ability to walk in heels is rather limited) so I quickly popped them on as soon as my camera came out. I’m sorry for cheating here, but I hope you’ll forgive me!
I live in t-shirt material skater dresses at the moment, as they are so comfy to wear to work (under a blazer or jacket if it gets a bit cold) and since they clinch in just above the waist (rather than around your tummy) they don’t feel restricting if you’re sitting at your desk all day hunched over. We all know the feeling!
The last two t-shirt skater dresses I bought were rather plain, so when I saw this grey marl one with leather capped sleeves in New Look recently, I picked it up and added it to my already over-loaded basket. You really can’t go wrong with these! New Look have had a real re-vamp recently and have incorporated loads of new fantastic brands into their collections, this one is from their Cameo Rose section.
It is a little bit shorter than the normal dresses I tend to go for, especially if it’s going to be worn to work as it’s a size smaller and hugs at the bust a little too much – but when I’m in full blown shopping mode (planning my outfits mentally in my head) I don’t think of the logistics. If I like it, it’s in. Ooops.
The boots are a high street version of the Jeffrey Campbell Litas (by Chockers) and despite looking rather deadly, are actually much easier to walk in than they look. Within reason. Obviously, I don’t shop in Sainsbury’s wearing these shoes (can you imagine!) but they are great with leggings or disco pants for a winter look, or with leather look dresses for a grungy feel. After a few hours on your feet though – they do start to ache.
Last, but not least – my flower earrings are from Gypsy Rose Vintage – and those coming along to the #LDNBloggersParty will hopefully be going home with a pair each! I’m not sure how clear the photographs are but they are tiny little rose buds! If you are heading off to a festival this summer, they are worth checking out for floral headbands, earrings and cute rings.
Let me know what you think of my newly re-vamped ‘What I Wore’ section! As always, I love your feedback and it would be fantastic to hear what you think in the comment box below!
Does anyone else have any crazy shopping habits? Any other bloggers cheat in their outfit posts – and carry the heels in their bag until you get to location (or hiding from your unwitting photographer)? Please say it’s not just me!
