A couple of weeks ago, the watch I had been dreaming about my entire life arrived in the post. That isn’t a statement full of superlatives, it honestly did. And the watch in question was from Kate Spade.
I’ve always been quite particular about my watches, which has meant that over the years, I’ve owned very few. I umm-ed and ahh-ed over the ‘on trend’ watches at the time of question, but could never quite justify parting with my money for them – something about them wasn’t quite ‘right’. However, when Kate Spade emailed over a list of their current collection, there was one in particular that stood out to me, it was the one I’d been waiting for.
With a pale pink leather strap and a studded mother of pearl face, the overall finish of the watch is unobtrusive and versatile – it can be worn with almost anything – however it’s girlie and ‘luxury’ and enough to justify the price tag. The little ‘spade’ symbol is tucked up in the corner, while the three other watch faces tick away in stainless steel. It’s a beautifully classic design, which I’ve been sporting both for evening attire and daywear.
You know when people talk about forever homes, forever jobs and forever partners? Well, this is my forever watch.
