Jewellery write ups or reviews are something I absolutely love doing, but simply keep stalling on. I spent my life (or so it seems) browsing the internet for cute accessories (at the moment I’m obsessed with spiky statement necklaces) but oddly, I hardly ever blog about them. However, when I came across affordable fashion jewellery store ‘What’s About Town’, I couldn’t not give them a little mention – as I had to reign myself in from purchasing the entire collection.
With the majority of jewelery items priced at £20 and under, the pieces themselves make fabulous gifts, and even better treats! I was lucky enough to sample a few items from the collection, both of which I’ve been wearing non stop since they arrived in a gorgeous little blue silk pouch last week.
Silver Open Crystal Evil Eye Pendant
When I first received this necklace, I wasn’t entirely sure whether it was my style – however I’ve grown to love it (my boyfriend insisted I wore it, as he loved it – apparently) and it’s received lots of compliments, even from complete strangers (in M&S). I think the dainty silver chain (with the tiny silver beads) is absolutely gorgeous and is of really high quality. Normally, statement necklaces or chains of this style can feel very heavy to wear, however this one is very light – but not overly delicate. I think it would look gorgeous with a LBD (it would definitely jazz it up a bit) or a summery playsuit, and I can’t wait to take it on holiday with me for evening wear! (£14.95)
Green Crystal Peace Symbol Charm Bracelet
I’ve been a charm bracelet fan ever since Claire’s accessories started stocking charm bracelets (and their £2.50 charms) when I was 9. This one however, is far more modern take on the typical charm bracelet, and I actually prefer it! Turquoise layered bracelets are teamed with hamsa hand charms, diamante peace charms and little hearts, all fastened together with a silver clip. It is such an adorable bracelet and really would make a perfect birthday gift for your best friend (you could think of them as ‘grown up’ friendship bracelets) or a bank holiday treat for yourself. I’ve been wearing mine all week (and I took it on my recent trip to Spain), and several people commented that it would look great at festivals – I agree! (£14.95)
If you get a moment, do take a look at What’s About Town because it’s a gorgeous site – with lots of lovely jewellery to choose from. I could sit here for hours reeling off my favourites, but the website really does speak for itself!
