Probably the most exciting thing about the influx of cold weather, for me, was the opportunity to wear thick, woolly roll neck jumpers. There’s something really comforting about cosy knitwear and so as soon as the temperature dropped, I set about hunting for the perfect one.
Unfortunately, fashion and comfort don’t often combine (or at least, very well) so my search proved harder than I originally thought. I ventured into H&M many times, who do amazing knitwear at all times of the year, however even their more expensive selections weren’t overly flattering and the quality wasn’t what I wanted. Although I didn’t want to spend a fortune, I wanted something thick – that looked expensive and was soft to wear without anything underneath (any further layers and it can look a bit bulky on me).
Finally, after much high street deliberation – I found my perfect jumper on Boden – along with a gorgeous pair of new burgundy boots and a navy blue winter jacket (which sort of looks like a duffle – but with a slightly more modern fit and neckline). I ordered it several weeks ago – and have now worn this outfit in several different combinations several times, hoping no-one would notice. I love how the jeans, boots and coat work together colour-wise to create a really autumnal look.

Jeans aren’t something I normally wear because I don’t always feel they’re the most flattering for my legs in particular – however the boots manage to elongate them enough to justify pulling out my old pair for winter!
Overall, it’s definitely my new go to winter look!
Do you have any staple winter pieces? Or any looks you’ve been loving recently?
