How To Plan Your Thailand Itinerary

Thailand conjures up images of baby elephants, pad thai, crazy Bangkok streets, beautiful beaches and the (in)famous full moon parties. It’s both a relaxing haven for romance and a party pod for graduates. I guess when I visited this time last year, I slotted rather nicely into both categories. David and I wanted a gorgeous relaxing break – our first official holiday as a couple, and yet I also wanted to visit somewhere with lively culture where I could celebrate the end of my University career, no more dissertation, exams or living 100’s of miles away from home. Yipee! And…

Your Dream Day, in Phuket Thailand

Thailand seems like a LONG time ago now. I mean, I’m not sure how it’s got to September already but still – my actual summer holiday was all the way back in June! How time flies. But anyway, I wanted to save some of my Thailand coverage for a later date and not bombard you with it all at once, because as much as it was an incredible trip – there’s only so much talk of white sandy beaches and chicken satay that one person can handle. Packing for island hopping in Thailand!

As many of you may know (thanks to my excited social media mentions), earlier last month – I jetted off to Thailand, for a 16 day adventure with my boyfriend David. It had been a couple of months in the planning and we were both really excited for our trip – often sending each other pictures we’ve found on Instagram of the islands we were hoping to visit. Wanderlust at the Amari Koh Samui

They often say that the best is saved until last and when it came to our Thailand trip, this was rather fitting. I wasn’t expecting to like Koh Samui as much as I did. I’m not sure why. Maybe I didn’t give it the benefit of the doubt after hearing about its party fuelled reputation. Although really, it’s just an absolutely breath-taking place that I honestly didn’t want to leave. I think the place we made our home for the duration of our stay made it all the more special though. Introducing, the Amari Koh Samui…  Nestled on Chaweng beach,…

Manathai Surin, Phuket

After the craziness of Bangkok, landing in Phuket was a completely different ball game. Although there were still the obligatory mopeds with a family of four balancing on the back, the view of the turquoise ocean gave the place a much more chilled feel – plus of course, the fact that we were no longer in a concrete jungle. As the biggest island in Thailand, Phuket is a popular tourist destination and to be honest, fairly commercialised – especially in Patong, where you can expect blaring music, flashing lights and those delightful buckets full of alcohol which taste like poison. However, there…
