The majority of the imagery used on scarlettlondon.com is taken by myself or by one of the writers, all other images are readily available in numerous places on the Internet and are therefore believed to be in public domain. Images posted are believed to be posted within our rights according to the U.K. Copyright Fair Use Act. I never claim that these images used are my own, and I do not accept credit for them. They are used purely for reference purposes only. However, if you think that any content appearing on the website infringes your copyright, please let me know via email and I will endeavor to remove the material as soon as possible.
80% of the products featured on Scarlett London have been sent by PR companies to trial or have been gifted. This does not affect my opinions on these products and I aim to provide honest and insightful reviews that will hopefully help advise those who are considering trying out a certain product. I have previously turned down samples and products because I did not deem them suitable for Scarlett London, or if I wouldn’t wear or use them myself. As a student, I don’t have the budget to buy all these products myself to review, however I still give honest, opinionated reviews on each product I am sent.
Sponsored posts are fairly infrequent on my site and are dwarfed by content written by myself and my writers. However, I do accept hosted guest content (providing it fits in with my target readership) and write sponsored posts alongside a brands marketing campaign if it fits with my natural content.
I do not accept and have previously turned down sponsored post offers that do not fit in with my site’s readership. I aim to entertain readers, rather than bombard them with advertising, so any sponsored posts are written by myself and in keeping with the house style, or tailored towards my readership. From July 30th 2015 on-wards, any sponsored content will have (***) featured at the bottom of the page, to show that one or two of the links in the post have been requested.
To get in touch with me regarding a potential sponsored post collaboration, or to view examples of my work, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘sponsored collaboration’ as the message subject.
My travel section is extremely popular among readers for its personal feel, with professional style photography – taken by myself. Many of the trips I make are paid for entirely by myself, however a select few have been sponsored either entirely or partly by a tourist board, travel agency or hotel. Regardless of whether it has been paid for by me or a PR company, I will always give my honest opinion about my stay as I believe that just because something has been provided for review purposes, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stay integral, honest and open.
