As someone who has always wanted long hair I jumped right on board when Dirty Looks offered me a chance to try out a set of their hair extensions. I’ve always been keen to try hair extensions, however I was a little concerned about the damage they could cause to my hair, and for that matter, my purse! Trying to find hair extensions that are of a good quality yet a reasonable price can be a bit of an issue.
I found that Dirty Looks hair extensions were not only fantastic quality but were also a good price, ranging from just £70 to £125. The set I received was the HK full head hair extensions in espresso dark brown, this includes 10 wefts of hair, with most sections having more than one weft attached. I already have relatively long hair, so I chose the “24-“26 inch set, however, I actually found this length a little too long for my liking!
I ended up cutting 2 inches off of them, which was a very risky maneuver on my behalf but thankfully they turned out just fine! This is not something I would usually recommend, if you do want your hair extensions shorter, or want to make them look more natural then I suggest taking them to your hairdresser, where they will be able to cut the hair extensions into your hair, this will give them a really effective, natural look!
The shade of colour I chose was probably about a shade lighter than my natural hair colour, but when I had clipped in all the wefts it actually blended in really well with my hair and gave it very natural looking highlights. The brand offer a selection of 21 different hair colours, so you are sure to find a shade that matches.
Dirty Looks hair extensions come with the clips already sewn in which is very handy, as well as spare ones, incase they do fall out. Dirty Looks hair extensions are made with Remy human hair, which is the highest grade of real human hair. The wefts felt of a really high quality and were really soft, healthy and shiny.
When it comes to my hair I am not very experimental at all and really struggle when trying to style my hair, it just never seems to go right for me! As a complete stranger to hair extensions I thought that I’d find it quite difficult when trying to put them in, so I was surprised when I managed to fit them in, in less than 15 minutes. Dirty Looks have each weft of hair numbered along with a booklet with a very clear set of instructions.
What I loved about the Dirty Looks hair extensions is that they did look very natural, obviously my friends were aware that I had them in because they see me everyday, on the other hand my male friends were completely oblivious to the fact that I had them in, despite the fact that my hair had grown about 5 inches. I wore my hair extensions from the afternoon, to the early hours of the morning after a night out and they were all completely still intact, which I was very impressed with.
Dirty Looks offer a wide a variety of different sets of hair extensions, anything from a whole head of hair, to clip in ponytails. The one piece that I am particularly impressed with is a clip in fringe, this way you can see what one will look like on without taking the plunge and changing your hairstyle.
A number of celebrities have also jumped onto the Dirty Looks bandwagon, such as; Whitney Port, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Fearne Cotton and Solange Knowles. The hair extensions have also featured in a number of designer campaigns and magazine shoots! If you want more information on their hair extensions and further “hairspiration” then why not visit their blog Dirty Looks.
Overall I was really impressed with Dirty Looks hair extensions, I would honestly recommend them to anyone, especially to people who are buying hair extensions for the first time as they are so easy to use! I can’t wait to experiment more with them and try out new hairstyles!
