I hope everyone has had a fabulous jubilee weekend! Although the weather wasn’t particularly lovely, it has been nice to have a couple of days off (I banned myself revising for a few days to relax) and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I personally love the patriotic decor that has been emblazoned upon our streets and think it should be like this all year round! I know some of the decor is slightly OTT (there is a house down my road that you cannot see for all the M&S Jubilee Bunting they have plastered across their exterior) however, the majority of it makes you feel proud to be British!

Despite the foul weather, my street went ahead with the planned Jubilee Street Party which was lovely and although I only managed an hour or so out in the cold, it was nice to catch up with people I hadn’t seen for ages. Most people nowadays are so busy that you rarely get a chance to say hello to your neighbours, as normally I quickly jump in my car and scoot off.

One of the lovely moments of the party was when everyone brought out their homemade cakes and set them all up on a large table for everyone to tuck into. Most people had made a real effort to be in keeping with the Jubilee theme and had decorated their cakes with crowns, union jacks and queens. I took a few pictures of just some of the cakes, so you have an idea of the effort people had made! Although they all looked lovely, I am a bit strange about eating cakes when I don’t know who has made them (I know, I know – this sounds odd!) so I just took a few photos and didn’t actually taste any of the cakes. However, this wasn’t entirely bad as I am desperately trying to stick to a healthy eating plan in the run up to summer!
Above: I don’t really have any patriotic clothing, so painted my nails for the occasion instead!
I also went to my friend’s 18th birthday dinner this weekend and had to re-wear my Essex Fashion Week dress for the occasion. We had a lovely meal at restaurant in the town centre where I live but unfortunately it was raining and I was in heels, so after we’d finished we only managed to brave it to the nearest bar before then returning home! It’s typical that we’ve had such lovely weather up until this weekend (which distracted me from revising) and then this weekend, it’s poured like there’s no tomorrow!
I’ve added a few pictures below of my hair and make-up for the night out on Saturday. I normally don’t make too much of an effort unless it’s an event in London or a birthday party (as I’m so lazy) but I’m quite pleased with my eye make-up!

I start my summer diet plan on Friday, which I’m so excited about. It might sound strange to be excited about starting a diet, however I am being delivered a pre-prepared hamper with all my meals for a week by MY Food, a delicious diet delivery company who have previously catered for the likes of Caroline Flack and Gabby Logan! I am a bit of a fussy person to cater for because I’m a vegetarian and I don’t eat nuts – however I’m looking forward to trying out lots of new meal concoctions.
Although I’m not overweight, I would like to lose a few pounds for several reasons. Number one is I am going to America in about a month, and have heard the portions over there are MASSIVE, so I am hoping to drop a few pounds beforehand so I don’t pile them on whilst I’m there. I’m a veggie, so won’t be tucking in to huge great hamburgers and super-sized McDonalds meals but I do have a very sweet tooth, so I might be tempted by the puddings. Secondly, I would love to have a flat stomach for my holidays this year as I give up the diet halfway through every year and so I’m hoping to stick to it this time (fingers crossed)! Will keep you posted!
Apologies if you have been bored by my waffling post this evening. I am aware that I very rarely post ‘personal’ ish posts, but looking back on my archive normally the ones which are more personal are also the most popular – so let me know if you like this kind of post and I will be sure to add a few more here and there!
