Cracked, dry and sore lips are rife during the summer months, especially with harsh sun ray exposure, salty sea water and chlorine filled pool water. So, with a few holidays in the pipeline (yay!), I went on the lookout for a new super beauty balm that was perfect for travel yet effective enough to banish sore lips full stop.
Introducing Clinique’s new lip treatment (aptly named) Superbalm. Fragrance free and deeply hydrating, it not only adds gloss and shine, but seals a layer of moisturize onto your lips preventing any further damage and soothing any cracked or dry areas. It could quite easily be described as Vaseline in a tube (but ten times better) as the hydration lasts hours and immediately, relief is given.
I personally prefer tubes or sticks when looking for balms/lip treatments, as I find the tins can get really soft and sticky when left in your beach bag, meaning when you want to apply it – it’s messy and inconvenient, so with Clinique’s superbalm being in a 7ml tube, it means it’s perfect for quick and easy application.
If you, like me, often suffer from red, chapped lips – and often wake up in the middle of the night because they’re so dry (keeping a lip balm handy by my bed is a god send!), then I can promise you this product will improve the condition of your lips completely. Since beginning to use it a few weeks ago, not once have my lips looked dry, chapped or sore. In fact, I’ve even managed to go all day without applying any balm at all!
At £12 a pop, this isn’t a super cheap product, but it’s still pretty affordable and I think the price is more than justified. I used to use Elizabeth Arden’s 8 Hour Cream on my lips (although it was quite sticky), which was a lot more expensive and I actually prefer this one!
In fact, I love it so much – I’ve used a whole 7ml tube up already. And I haven’t even been on holiday yet. Oops.
