Anyone that knows me will know that I love online shopping. I’ve always got a couple of online baskets on the go and I’m sure the poor postman dreads coming to my house because he has to stagger up my steep driveway with an abundance of things I probably don’t need.
However, the one bane of digital shopping has to be the tedious process of filling out your card details, heightened by the fact my card is usually in another part of the house and takes away from what is a seemingly therapeutic process. I know it’s not the end of the world – but I have been known to leave a shopping basket at the checkout (even if I love the clothes) because the thought of having to fill out boxes of long numbers and names just takes the fun out of things.
However, if the site I’m using has PayPal – this minor hiccup is immediately taken out of the question. I first set up my account back in 2011 and I haven’t looked back. I love how quick, simple and worry-free it is – meaning that your basket can be yours with a swift swipe of the mouse rather than having to search for that card that has grown legs and walked away.
So, when PayPal invited me to participate in their #DoItWithPayPal campaign, spreading the word on how easy and hassle free it is to online shop anywhere in the world (in my case, London) – I jumped on board straight away. They asked me to think of an exciting place I’d like to shop from and kindly debited a bit of summer pocket money into my PayPal wallet to practice what I’d been preaching!
As one of the newest and most iconic landmarks of 21st century London – The Shard was my first choice, weaving together my two favourite pastimes – shopping and watching the city go by! So with A View From The Shard booked for myself and a guest on Sunday afternoon, Claudia and I headed to the top for some incredible pictures.
Although I spent a little time checking what ASOS had to offer, I finally settled on a digital shopping trip to Missguided, which I enjoyed while catching a glimpse of the stunning panorama every so often. I filled my basket with the items I’d been lusting over for the past month and in one quick tap, had them sent to my house with next day delivery. All PayPal requires is your email or username and password, which makes it very swift work!
I’m sure you’re probably wondering what I bought?
Thank you to PayPal for having me for their campaign, I had such an enjoyable day and it was so lovely to be able to treat myself to some pre-exam treats for the summer! I’m heading off to Cannes, Greece, Austria, Sorrento and Naples this summer – so no doubt I’ll be doing a little more online shopping in the meantime, with my trusty PayPal ready to make the process as enjoyable as possible!
Where has been the craziest (or most beautiful) place you’ve shopped online?
