Hair tools are a big investment (or at least they are for me anyway), so when it comes to new hairdryers, straighteners and tongs – I like to do my research before settling on just one. ghd have always been a major contender for me (having spent my teenage years surgically attached to my magical straighteners from their range – the only thing which worked wonders on my extremely frizzy barnet), so I tend to head directly to their website initially before making any such purchase, before backing up the latest model with blog reviews (as always).
One model that kept cropping up was the fabulous new ghd aura, a fancy product with an equally fancy name. With shine and volume my two main issues when it comes to my hair (whatever I do, it seems to look flat) – it was an appealing claim that this model was said to revolutionise the styling experience for ultimate volume and shine – so I couldn’t wait to try it out!
The first unique aspect I noticed was that instead of blasting your hair with heat from the entirety of the nozzle – the ghd aura one channels the stream of air onto one focused section – which really helps if you’re trying to create sleek, smooth ends without that frazzled look a regular hairdryer can often give. After a little research, I found that the name ‘aura’ comes from it’s Cool-Wall technology – which creates a ring of cool air around the hot air (making it cool to touch – so burning your scalp or fingers even if you’re in a hurry is history!).
The dryer is relatively lightweight – which makes it easy to maneuver (I find I adopt a variety of interesting poses when drying my hair) and overall – it’s a really fab model! If you’re in the market for a new hairdryer, I’ll definitely recommend giving this one a thought!
Have you tried the ghd Aura – or any of their other models?
