Before I start writing about London Fashion Week and what I got up too, I just want to apologise for my lack of posts over the last ten days. Unfortunately, my laptop decided it was a great idea to blow up (quite literally) last Saturday morning and since then, I have been without a computer. Until you don’t actually have access to a laptop or a computer, you don’t realise how much you actually rely on it (which in my case – is A LOT!). My blog relies on the fact I have the Internet, a laptop, a camera and photo shop, which I use to edit all of my photographs – so hopefully on Monday, the majority of the above things will be ready for me to blog again! Until then, I thought I would attempt a post on what I got up to during London Fashion Week (which boringly, wasn’t an awful lot!). Plus, since I have a few exciting updates, I thought I would blog about them too!
This summer, I was extremely busy with work and internships – which meant that I didn’t get a chance to apply for a LFW pass or any of the shows. I went to London Fashion Weekend last year and loved it, and similarly – went to a few LFW parties in February’s LFW, however this year – I was a little left out. Fortunately, my advertising agency Glam Media host a LFW lounge every season and this time around – I was able to come along and experience it first hand. Whilst I was expecting a quick chat with a few bloggers and perhaps a manicure, when I actually arrived I was astounded at how much time and effort Glam had put in, in order to make it fabulous! Not only was there a bloggers suite (equipped with computers so LFW bloggers could pop in and update their followers) but there was also (my favourite) a make-up and nails room, where you could quickly drop in to have your make-up and nails touched up, ready for the next show!
Open throughout the four days of LFW, the Glam Bloggers Suite was open to all Glam Media Publishers (so all the bloggers who have their advertising managed by Glam Media) and their guests! I had the pleasure of meeting several lovely bloggers, including Scarlett London’s very own fashion writer – Rachel Dixon, who prior to this event, I hadn’t met before! Rachel had already been at the event an hour (as stupidly, I hopped on the slow train) and when I arrived, we had a nice chat before getting our nails done in the beauty room. I was kindly handed a glass of champagne whilst getting my nails done and for anyone peckish, Glam even had a snack table set up (which I promptly stood by for most of the event – yum!).
Many of my favourite bloggers including Zoella and The London Lipgloss walked through the doors of the Glam Bloggers Lounge whilst I was there, however despite the champagne, I was a little nervous to go up and introduce myself. After feeling thoroughly refreshed, made up and full – Rachel, my boyfriend Max and I headed down the lift of the swanky Aldwych One hotel, had a quick peek into Somerset House and then headed back home! Prior to leaving, I was handed a Rimmel goodie bag (who sponsored the event) which I didn’t really look at until I got on the twenty minute train journey home. Upon opening the bag, I was shocked at how many products Rimmel had generously put into the goodie bags (you may have seen me excitedly post about the goodie bag on Twitter!), both Rachel and I agreed we felt like we had half of Boots in our bags! I certainly won’t need to go make-up shopping for a while!
Of the products included in the very generous goodie bag, I have used almost half of them – my favourite being the BB Cream, which is honestly – amazing! I know I use that term to refer to lots of products I review on my blog, but honestly if you ever take anything away from my blog, please give this a go! It gives perfect, almost flawless coverage (well, nothing gives absolutely flawless coverage – unless you are Rosie Huntington-Whitely etc) and feels so light and comfortable. It’s also extremely easy to blend in and is perfect for those days when you want to look ready for the day ahead, with minimum effort involved. The only thing I would say is avoid slapping on lots of facial moisturiser before applying the BB Cream, as it already has added hydration within it – and you could end up with a rather greasy looking face should you use too much of both.
Thank you to Fiona and Izan, who invited me to (and organized the event). I had a fantastic day and despite not attending any of the shows, I felt involved and a part of LFW just by coming along!
In other news, you may have spotted on Twitter that I am now doing the PR and Management for Sara McLean’s London and UK appearances. Going into PR is something I’ve always loved doing (and I am currently working in PR and Marketing as my day job at the moment), so it’s exciting to be able to help Sara out! I will still be running my blog and doing everything I am doing already, I will just be dealing with any inquiries regarding Sara and setting her up some exciting work! If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to let me know – I’m always happy to speak to you!
