It’s always such a lovely surprise to have a Glossy Box pop through my door every month, as they coincidently manage to organise the deliveries when I’m having a particularly bad or stressful day – and so it cheers me right up to have an array of beauty products to try out!
This month’s Glossy Box was certainly a special one, as it celebrated the first birthday of the brand! Personally, I can’t believe how far Glossy Box has come in just a year, as it has already paved the way forward with regards to beauty box subscriptions and is definitely the most popular sample box amongst bloggers! It has a following of celebrity fans, as well as a very loyal twitter fan base – so congratulations Glossy Box – for really opening up the idea of beauty boxes to the mass market!
The actual ‘box’ that was delivered this month was definitely in keeping with a ‘luxurious’ theme, as the products were wrapped in a gorgeous girlie pink tissue paper, emblazoned with perfume bottles, cakes and polka dot bows! Personally, I absolutely love getting a Glossy Box each month just to see the theme/colour scheme and how the products are packaged.
Featured in my box this month was a gorgeous Glossy Box Balloon (I admit, I did try and blow this up so that I could have a photo with the balloon, however I spent 20 minutes trying to inflate it and eventually gave up!) which was in keeping with the birthday theme, as well as a Noble Isle Bath & Shower Gel, Lolita Lempicka Perfume Samples, Apivita Firming Masks, Osmo Berber Oil (AMAZING!) and HD Brows Eye Smoothing Serum. A great selection!
My favourite product from the box would have to be the Berber Oil, as it is so luxurious, smells amazing and provides silky smooth results after just one application. Admittedly, it is far thicker than other hair oil treatments that I have tried (which personally I think makes it easier to apply) however, this means that you can really feel the oil nourishing the hair, rather than the product running straight through it and going to waste. As I’m sure you might know, I am currently on the hunt for a ‘perfect’ hair oil – and am in the process of trialing quite a few! Obviously each product works differently on different hair types, however this Berber Oil is honestly one of the very best oils I have tried. It not only smells amazing, but it does what it says on the tin (well, bottle). In addition, the full size version is priced at a mere £19.99 (for 100ml), which certainly won’t break the bank!
The HD Brows Eye Smoothing Serum is a product that I have previously heard rave reviews about but haven’t really had much of an incentive to try it out as it is aimed at slightly more mature skin. It claims to smooth fine lines and firm delicate skin tissue around the eyes, however this isn’t really something I worry about at the moment as I’m still young, so although I love HD Brows as a brand this product isn’t really something that is of use to me. However, I did try a little of the serum out under my eyes and found it could be doubled up as a ‘wake up’ eye cream or moisturising day cream as it was very nourishing, refreshing and smelt gorgeous!
The Lolita Lempicka samples included in the box were absolutely divine and I would buy both of them in an instant. Although normally my favourite aspect of a perfume is the bottle (a little shallow, I know!) I was drawn in to these feminine perfumes because they really embody summer with floral ‘fairytale’ inspired notes! Unfortunately, I’ve already used up the samples given to us in this months Glossy Box, however I will look into getting the full size version (which is £65).
The other products included were the Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Mask by Apivita and the Noble Isle Bath & Shower Gel. Both of these I am yet to test out, however the Noble Isle product smells amazing and I will definitely be using it as soon as I can. The Anti-Wrinkle Firming Mask I will have to be careful using as I have very sensitive skin on my face and highly fragranced products can bring me out in a reaction, however I always keep a few face masks in my room for girlie days anyway!
PS: I have completely used up the lip balm (Figs & Roses) that was included in last month’s Glossy Box! I am officially addicted, as it never fails to nourish and hydrate your lips/other dry skin and has tiny (sort of) exfoliating beads so it evens out the skin on your lips! I have been on Feel Unique this week stocking up!
