You may have heard about Glossy Box before, as it is regularly reviewed by bloggers in the UK and it is growing increasingly popular with women who spend a fortune on products they don’t use, as they can sample them for a fraction of the price. Personally, I think the idea is fantastic. I quite regularly spend vast amount of money on beauty products that claim to do one thing, and the result is less than satisfactory. Obviously I know that Revlon’s new foundation isn’t going to give me perfect skin in an instant, but usually I’m left disappointed with the results, or they don’t suit me or it’s the wrong colour. So by sending you samples of new, exciting products each month – Glossy Box has the winning formula, as you spend £10.00 a month on stuff you can try, before you buy (that sounds so cringe worthy – sorry).
So, when my Glossy Box came through the door – I was definitely excited, especially since the box itself was absolutely gorgeous. I think I would buy another box purely for the packaging! After the excitement of receiving the box subsided, I started to try out all the products.
HD Brows, High Definition Kit:
This product was by far my favourite! I’d heard about HD brows for quite some time, however to be honest I’d no idea where you would buy a kit from or how much it was and I’m the sort of person that unless it’s in my local Boots, I probably won’t try it out or know about it. I draw in my eyebrows normally, as they are quite light and pointless otherwise. I really do think you can change the way your face looks by defining your eyebrows, however I’d never really got the colour right – as my hairs blonde, and really dark eyebrows on me just look wrong. However, the HD brows kit gave you four different eyebrow defining colours dependent on your hair colour, which was great. The angled brush it came with also meant that you could perfect the shape of your eyebrows easily and instantly. Once this sample runs out, I will definitely be buying another kit. Its fab and I would definitely recommend it!
Plum by Mary Greenwell Sample:
I loved this sweet fragrance sample, as it was fresh but not too overpowering. Its great being able to sample a new fragrance in the comfort of your own home, as normally there are so many different smells in a fragrance shop that you never really have a true indication of what a certain perfume smells like. I probably wouldn’t buy this fragrance, as it’s a little too sweet for me and I own too many perfumes for a start, however I did wear it on a few occasions and it received quite a few compliments.
Neil & Wolf Intensive Hair Care Treatment:
I normally don’t use anything but my beloved Aussie 3 minute miracle however I gave this hair care treatment a go and was pleasantly surprised. Just a small helping will leave your hair feeling silky and soft, and it smells gorgeous. Although it is suitable for all hair types, I found that it didn’t make my curly hair frizzy and dry, which some hair care treatments do. It’s great that you get a full sized 200ml tube, as it means that you can trial it over a long period of time before buying your own. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that needs to get their coloured, dry hair back to scratch.
Dead Sea Spa Salt Brushing Exfoliating Scrub:
I used these samples a couple of times, however I don’t normally use exfoliating scrub as sometimes my sensitive skin reacts badly. However, this scrub didn’t and in fact I did notice that my skin was much smoother after using them. The citrusy smell makes a change from some of the more nasty smelling exfoliating scrubs on the market; however I’m not sure if I’d buy it again simply because I find I take too much time in the shower if I use it. For those who enjoy lengthy, relaxing baths – I’d recommend it to you!
Overall, I think Glossy Box have come up with a winning formula. They present you with a great box of beauty goodies each month, for a small (and great value) price. Everything is very well presented, and I genuinely think you’d look forward to your Glossy Box day each month. Like most sign up delivery services, Glossy Box is easy to manage online and you can cancel at any time during the month.
