It’s the most magical time of the year…
I make no secret about the fact that I absolutely ADORE Christmas. I wish people decorated their houses so beautifully all year round, with garlands, lights and front garden decorations, because it honestly makes me SO happy and uplifted to see such wonderful displays throughout December.
When we moved into our new home earlier in the year, I couldn’t wait to decorate for Christmas.
I had a Pinterest board, which I was adding to daily – and an assortment of ideas about fresh flowers and garlands and glitter.
And then re-decoration plans starting happening… and we got a puppy. So things took a slight backside and rather than DIY-ing all the decorations myself, I decided to look into more simplistic, ready to go decorations that would still provide that homely, luxurious and festive touch to our home.
I chatted about my ideas to Hayes Garden World – and they offered to help me get ready for Christmas with one of their stunning artificial trees and a couple of additional decorations for the home. We actually got a tree from Hayes last year (which I planned to go in the entrance hall), so I picked a beautiful 7ft tree for our lounge, placed an order and couldn’t wait to start the decorations.
Hallway
The entrance hall was one of the main reasons we fell in love with this house style initially. I love the grand feel this space has and I almost instantly thought about how I couldn’t wait to start styling it for Christmas festivities.
We still have a lot of decoration to do in this area, which limited us slightly when it came to decor – however I’m really pleased with how our tree (from Hayes last year) and the 4m garland work well to add a festive touch to the room.
Next year, I really want to enhance the garland by adding fresh flowers and pampass, but I’ve loved experimenting with simplicity this time around.
Living Room
For our living room, we decided upon this gorgeous 7ft tree – which I knew would tower elegantly over the room and providing a central focus point for our Christmas decorations. It looks even better than I thought, even if my decorating skills need a little bit of work!
We also chose this beautiful snowy garland for the fireplace, which I’ve folded over twice to create a centrepiece. Again, next year – I plan to fill this out with pinecones, pampass and eucalyptus – however for now, I’m really enjoying the simplicity of the faux snow and a little bit of gold tinsel to highlight our accent colour in the room!
Hayes actually offer a lifetime guarantee on all of their artificial trees, which is an amazing reassurance if you’re investing in a tree which will see you through the next decade or so of festivities. Having had two trees from them in consecutive years for different parts of the house, I have been impressed on both occasions at how high quality and realistic they look. They are super easy to put together and store, and they shed very, very little – meaning you’re not constantly hoovering up.
It’s safe to say that little Ralph loves the decorations too!
If you’re already thinking about next Christmas’ festivities, I’d recommend heading over to their post-Christmas artificial tree sale, where you can score a huge 60% off! Because hey, it’s never too early to get prepared for the festivities, eh?
