It is just under a month until the #LDNBloggersParty and preparations are well and truly under way in my household. The entire spare room is filled to the brim with goody bags (if you’d like to see what’s in them – follow me on Instagram @scarlettlondon), my inbox is full of replies, responses and ideas and the guest-list is completely filled up!
There has been an overwhelming response on Twitter about the event itself, so thank you to everyone for your interest. I really hope the event will live up to expectations (I’m getting quite nervous now), and that there will be enough to do to keep everyone entertained. I think the main purpose of the event is to meet lots of new like-minded bloggers, and from looking at the guest-list – this will definitely be possible. Fingers crossed!
I know for several of you on Twitter, this will be your first ever bloggers event, so I thought I’d add a few little tips below in case you’re worried about what the event will entail, or what you should wear/do/bring. In essence, bloggers events tend to be very relaxed and I promise you – they are the most friendly community ever, but here’s a few little tips I’ve picked up upon on the way!
– Even if you’re coming on your own, there’s no need to worry. There will be lots of other bloggers in the same situation as you, and as soon as you arrive – I’m sure your worries will be put at ease. The 2-4-1 cocktails we have organised at the venue mean that you can team up with another blogger upon arrival (a little icebreaker) and since we are all in the same boat (we’re all bloggers), I am certain that you’ll have at least one thing in common to talk about!
– I find it very difficult matching bloggers faces to their Twitter handle/blog website, so don’t worry if you have the same trouble with this too. I shall be bringing along some labels that we can use as name tags (just to make life a little easier) but it’s always a good idea to bring along some business cards with your name/email/blog URL on to give out on the day (it’s a great place to network). My first set of business cards cost me £5.99 (for 250) from Vista Print – so even if you haven’t got any printed yet, there’s still time.
– Are you struggling for blogging inspiration? Or do you have a burning question about the world of blogging? Use the meet-up as an opportunity to ask away! No question is silly and no answer is wrong. Blogging is all about sharing!
– As well as being the friendliest, the blogging community is also the most photographed, as it’s likely everyone will be bringing a camera along to snap some photographs for their blog. It’s completely up to you if you’d like to keep it casual in jeans, or dress up, but the chances are you are going to be papped, so come equipped with a smile!
If you’d like to keep up with all the gossip, follow the hashtag #LDNbloggersparty . I have set up a list for all of those attending, which can be viewed here, but as always – if you have any questions at all, feel free to Tweet (@scarlett_london) or email me (scarlett_dixon@hotmail.co.uk).
Oh, and random fact of the day. Did you know that 55% of ALL internet users count blogs as one of their main sources for inspiration. They also admitted that they turn to blogs for honest reviews and personal recommendations over magazines/publications.
Do you have any blogging tips you can share? Are you excited/anxious for the meet-up?
Oh, and here’s a sneak preview of the specially made ‘blogger’ necklaces that Balagan Studio has made for the goodie bags! They are exclusive to the #LDNBloggersParty! Hope you’re all excited!
