I’ve been eager to put together a make-up storage/collection post for quite some time now. As odd as it may seem to some, my make-up and beauty collection really is my pride and joy. One of my favourite things to do is spend hours sifting through, testing out products I haven’t tried in awhile and re-organising the drawers. I know among bloggers this is a bit of a shared passion (luckily, I’m glad I’m not alone) and so since it’s my favourite kind of post to read (or video to watch), I thought I’d stop being nosey for once and actually put a little post together featuring mine.
As I’m currently split between three bedrooms (my mums, my dads and my uni bedroom), my collection is currently looking a little more condensed than usual – with many of my favourite items lurking among the three, however with my dressing table set up and organised – I thought it would give you a little insight into the things I love.
Dressing table wise, I’ve had this set since I was about 13 – so I’ve actually no idea where it’s from however the cream and wood combination match my wardrobe, desk and bed (which aren’t as organised as my dressing table – so are hidden from sight). I absolutely love the IKEA dressing tables as they provide so much storage space within the drawers – however I have opted for extra Muji drawers for the smaller make-up items while the bigger beauty based items take pride of place within the table. My fake tan, perfumes, nail varnishes and ‘miscellaneous bits’ lay elsewhere in the room.
My Muji drawers play host to lip glosses… (can you tell I love Tanya Burr’s range?!| link)
Mascaras…
Benefit’s They’re Real is my current favourite followed in close second by the Maybelline New York Colossal.
And eye liners (I’m sure one person doesn’t need that many – but I hate throwing them away!)…
While my dressing table drawers have a designated area for skincare.
Foundations, false eyelashes and palettes…
And hair products…
As I’ve said, the main bulk of my beauty items are at Uni (as they’re used frequently) however my ‘collection’ and organisation is in my dressing table at home.
One of my new favourite items includes this amazing BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream – which I often wear in the place of foundation. I suffer from really dry, flaky and red skin (wonderful, I know) so this is one of the only things I can use to keep these awful skin symptoms at bay, while wearing a little coverage. The shade Buttercream (03) perfectly suits my skin tone as it’s got quite an olive undertone – so I can’t wait to wear this over the summer without worrying about my face melting off!
Do you love organising your dressing table too – I’d love to know I’m not the only one!?
