I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break. What did you all do to celebrate? I was in Greece for ten days with my family. The weather wasn’t as great as I had hoped – in fact, it was grey and cold for most of my stay – but that meant I got to spend a lot of time at home with my parents and grandparents and my favourite uncle. I even managed to read an entire book which seems incredible as Uni has been so time-consuming and draining that reading a book for leisure has been out of the question since September. It was ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ by John Green. I got through it in two days – couldn’t put it down. A gripping story about a teenage girl suffering with cancer and her struggles with life, love and just being a teenage girl. It is told from her perspective and is witty and funny and so real. And at the same time, it tells a love story and can bring you to tears, too. John Green knows what he’s talking about and he tells the story so well and it’s so real and relatable – truly fantastic.
Back to our outfit of the week. I’ve gone for a casual but dressed up outfit for this week. I usually don’t wear blue jeans at all but these are the perfect skinny fit and I love their colour. Easy to wear with anything. I’ve paired them with a gorgeous cropped fur jacket in colour-block; I’m wearing it buttoned up and only got a tank top underneath – no need to open it, it makes the perfect top as it is.
These powder blue suede heels from Zara are stunning and the chunky heel makes them super comfortable. Turned up the jeans very roughly for a cool, laid-back touch. You can wear the same but opt for biker boots or sneakers to toughen up the fur or just a pair of ballet flats in any colour for a more girly but still casual attitude. Make-up and jewellery are kept to a minimum – nothing too sparkly or it’ll be too “evening”! Add an oversized bag like this Céline or even a cross-body bag like the Proenza Schouler PSII (my dream bag!) to make the look appropriate for every day.
I’m also sporting a faux-bob à la Olivia Palermo by tucking my hair underneath the jacket. I’m actually contemplating getting a real bob so it doesn’t hurt to “sample” it…although, knowing me, if I did do it, I’d probably be super excited at first and then after a day or two, cry in front of the mirror pulling my hair down to make it grow back…! Clearly, I need more time to think about it.
Wearing: Jeans, Acne Studios. Fur coat, Miu Miu. Tank top, Kaine. Heels, Zara. Bag, Céline.
